Incident Reported in Early Morning Hours

The robbery was reported at around 2:45 am when a car carrying three individuals was stopped near a CNG gas station close to Prabhat Industries. The location falls under the jurisdiction of the Dahisar Police, who confirmed that the accused are currently absconding. A case of robbery has been formally registered, and officers have begun efforts to trace the suspects using surveillance footage from the surrounding area.

Background of the Complainant

The complainant, Vijay Pawar, 38, is originally from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and is presently employed with a private firm based in Dahisar. According to police records, Pawar had travelled abroad earlier this month as part of an official assignment. His employer had deputed him, along with a colleague, to Hong Kong for company-related work.

Overseas Trip and Purchase of Electronics

During their stay in Hong Kong, Pawar and his colleague purchased several mobile phones and electronic accessories. These items were reportedly intended for business purposes. At the Hong Kong airport, the two were joined by their associate, Deepak Belladia, before beginning their return journey to India.

Return to Mumbai and Route Taken

The group arrived in Mumbai on January 23, landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. After exiting the airport terminal, they hired a private car to travel towards Dahisar. Their route took them across the Ovari Pada Bridge, heading in the direction of the Dahisar check naka.

Alleged Staged Confrontation

As the car approached the check naka area, two young men riding a Bullet motorcycle reportedly intercepted the vehicle. The motorcyclists allegedly accused the driver of hitting their motorcycle and asked the occupants to stop the car. When Pawar, Belladia, and their colleague stepped out to address the complaint, the situation escalated into a verbal argument.

Theft Carried Out During Distraction

Police stated that while the argument was ongoing, the two suspects took advantage of the distraction to access the car’s boot. A bag containing multiple mobile phones and accessories was allegedly removed without the knowledge of the victims. The suspects then fled the scene on their motorcycle, leaving the trio unaware of the theft until moments later.

Details of Stolen Property

The stolen items are estimated to be worth ₹24,53,680. The inventory includes three iPhone 17 Pro handsets valued at approximately ₹2.85 lakh, two iPhone 17 Pro Max devices worth around ₹2 lakh, and a large quantity of memory cards. Smaller memory cards were valued at ₹6 lakh, while higher-capacity memory cards were estimated at ₹12 lakh. Additional items included pen drive memory cards worth ₹36,180, iPhone screens valued at ₹1,30,500, and a mobile phone belonging to Deepak Belladia.

Police Action and Ongoing Investigation

Following the incident, Pawar approached the Dahisar Police station and filed a detailed complaint. After preliminary verification, officers registered a robbery case against unknown persons. Investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage from nearby roads, junctions, and commercial establishments in an effort to identify the suspects and reconstruct their escape route. Police officials stated that further updates would follow as the investigation progresses.
