Bihar: In a wanted Naxalite was murdered in a clash with police troops

Bihar: In the Begusarai area of Bihar, a Naxalite with a Rs 50,000 bounty on his head was slain by security forces, according to authorities.

Dayanand Malakar, the secretary of the banned CPI-Maoist’s north Bihar Central Zonal Committee, has been named as the dead. They added that two of his colleagues were taken into custody.

The Bihar Police’s Special Task Force (STF) said in a statement that “Malakar alias Chotu, a Naxal who was wanted by the police in more than 14 criminal cases, died following an encounter with a joint team of STF and district police in the Teghra area of Begusarai on Wednesday evening.”Security guards arrived at the location where Malakar and his companions were hiding after receiving a tip.

Malakar attempted to flee after seeing the police officers and opened fire on them.

In self-defense, security personnel retaliated. According to the statement, two of Naxal’s associates were taken into custody and the Naxal was hurt in the altercation.

After being taken to the closest government hospital, Malakar was pronounced dead. According to the report, no security guards were hurt during the incident.

One 5.56 MM INSAS rifle, a domestic handgun, 25 live rounds, and 15 expended rounds were also found on the scene by the police.Malakar participated in many Naxalite operations in north Bihar while carrying a Rs 50,000 reward on his head, according to the statement.
