For those who do not know, Matheran is a hill station close to Mumbai. Numerous tourists travel by narrow-gauge train on the 1907 Neral–Matheran Toy Train. The scenic site, which is well-known for its mild temperature and well-preserved colonial buildings, has outlawed motor cars.

Saiee shared her comments, saying that the hill town has been a constant in her life since she was a little kid and has become very special to her over time.

“I find myself returning to Matheran with a few close friends this New Year, a place that has always felt like a second home,” Saiee told IANS. Since I was a little kid, I have visited this place with my family and friends, and it has subtly shaped who I am now.

“Matheran moves at its own slow pace because there are no cars and no rush.”

Saiee also remembered going on horseback rides through hazy paths, shadowed woodlands, and serene vistas, characterizing the experience as almost meditative.

Riding here with my parents and siblings brought back many happy memories, including times of laughter, companionship, and a feeling of freedom that can only be found in nature and time. It feels almost meditative to ride a horse through misty trails, shaded forests, and serene vistas, allowing memories to come to the surface organically.

For the actress, her stay there is defined by the little pleasures. Saiee said that these experiences, which range from vada pav at a long-time friend of hers to gola on hot afternoons and Maggi at a little tapri, help her rediscover her heritage.

“Gola on hot afternoons, Maggi at a little tapri, and vada pav from a vendor we’ve known for years seem like the most fulfilling pleasures after long trips. These times, away from five-star amenities, let me rediscover my roots and serve as a reminder of what a child really needs to be happy.

“Welcoming the New Year here feels deeply right, a return to simplicity, authenticity, and the memories that continue to shape me,” the actress said.

In 2012, the 23-year-old actress made her cinematic debut in the Marathi film Kaksparsh, playing Kushi Damle for a short time.
