Ashes 2025-26: After England’s defeat in Adelaide, Rohit Sharma brutally threw shade at Ben Stokes’ team, saying, “Australia Mein Khelna…” | Video

Ashes 2025-26:  Australia, the hosts, will keep the urn on Sunday in the current Ashes series, which has been a one-sided contest so far. At the Adelaide Oval, the Pat Cummins-led team defeated England by 82 runs, demonstrating their superiority over the visitors. Notably, Australia lost to India in their most recent home test series in 2020–21. Speaking to an audience at an event, former India captain Rohit Sharma, who was a member of that winning team, acknowledged that playing in Australia is the hardest venue for a visiting team.

“Australia mein khelna sabse difficult hai, aap England ko puch he sakte ho” (playing in Australia is the most difficult, you can ask England about it) was another jab at England that Rohit made during his remark.

England put up a fight in Adelaide, but it wasn’t enough after they lost their first two tests in Perth and Brisbane in less than three days apiece. Because of his outstanding century in the first innings, Alex Carey was named ‘Player Of The Match’.

It’s important to remember that Rohit scored 31 runs in his five innings during his last Test series against Australia.

Ben Stokes on missing the opportunity to keep the urn is difficult to look upon.

In the two tests left in the series, captain Ben Stokes thinks England can build on the positives from their defeat to Australia in the third Ashes test in Adelaide. The team hopes to win the Down Under for the first time in over 15 years.

“I think some individuals have probably actually learned a lot more about themselves throughout this week than they did maybe a week or two ago,” he said.

“But there were a lot of positives to be able to take out of this game, and for us to be able to build on and take forward, not only into the two games left in the series, but also how cricket looks in the future.”We had people going out there, and I felt like they handled some very stressful situations really effectively. I believe that this week has given some people a better understanding of who they are.

“It’s obviously hard to look at it with too much positivity at the moment, because there’s a lot of emotion to attach with what’s going on and where we are.”

Beginning on December 26, England will play the fourth Test of the series at the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
