Ganga Road Project: Along the banks of the Ganga from Gaighat to Didarganj, an approximately 7.80-kilometer four-lane road is planned to be constructed parallel to the JP Ganga Path. The district government cleared both temporary and permanent constructions blocking the current road as part of a large anti-encroachment campaign from Bhadra Ghat to Kangan Ghat on Tuesday in anticipation of the project.

Seven permanent and twenty temporary encroachments were demolished as a consequence of the operation, which lasted till the evening and was overseen by Patna City Circle Officer Chandan Kumar and other authorities and police officers. Bulldozers were also used to clear large areas of five parks that were being built along the Ganga, at an estimated cost of Rs 43 crore.

Encroachers staged protests throughout the drive. According to Circle Officer Chandan Kumar, the encroachments that have been detected are being removed to make way for the new four-lane road’s development.

He further said that, with the exception of instances that are still pending in court, the anti-encroachment drive would continue on Wednesday and reach Didarganj. He asked anyone who were unlawfully occupying government property to leave on their own will.

Roadside warehouses, cow barns, huts, tea shops, snack kiosks, and park boundary walls were among the buildings destroyed by a JCB machine during the demolition effort, which started near Bhadra Ghat. Officials told a number of people who claimed ownership of the destroyed property to provide legitimate documentation to back up their claims.
