In Indore, two female Australian cricket players were stalked and molested; the accused were taken into custody

According to authorities on Saturday, a guy on a motorbike allegedly followed two Australian women cricket players who were competing in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India, and one of them was groped.

According to an official, the suspect was taken into custody on Friday in relation to the incident, which happened Thursday morning close to Khajrana Road.

A guy on a motorbike began pursuing the two cricket players after they had left their hotel and were making their way to a café, according to Sub-Inspector Nidhi Raghuvanshi.

She also said that he improperly touched one of them before he sped off.

The cricket players promptly alerted Danny Simmons, their team security officer, who made contact with local security liaison personnel and made arrangements for a car to help them.

After meeting with the two players, Assistant Commissioner of Police Himani Mishra took notes on their testimonies and filed a First Information Report at the MIG police station under sections 74 (using criminal force to offend a woman’s modesty) and 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police were able to track down and apprehend the perpetrator, Akil Khan, thanks to an eyewitness who saw the event and recorded the motorcycle’s registration number. “The investigation is ongoing, and Khan has prior criminal cases against him,” Mishra said.
