VoterList – The final electoral roll for Uttar Pradesh has been officially published following an extensive revision exercise, bringing noticeable changes to the total number of registered voters in the state.

Up voter list final roll update

Significant Drop in Registered Voters After Revision

The updated voter list, released on April 10, reflects a substantial decline in the total electorate. Approximately 2.05 crore names have been removed during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh had around 15.44 crore registered voters, but the latest figures show a reduced count of about 13.40 crore. The official final number now stands at 13,39,84,792.

Officials explained that the revision was carried out to ensure accuracy and eliminate duplicate or ineligible entries. The process included field verification and data cross-checking across districts.

Draft List Changes and Fresh Additions

Earlier in January, a draft version of the electoral roll had already removed nearly 2.89 crore names. According to Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, several of these entries could not be verified, while others were flagged during the verification drive and served notices.

However, the final list is not just about deletions. Compared to the January draft, nearly 84 lakh new voters have been added after fresh applications and successful verification. This indicates that while the list has been cleaned up, efforts were also made to include eligible voters who were previously missing.

How Residents Can Verify Their Names

Authorities have advised all residents to check their details in the newly published voter list to avoid complications during elections. If a voter does not find their name, they are encouraged to first contact the District Magistrate of their district. If the issue remains unresolved, it can be escalated to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

Those who were not part of the revision process still have the opportunity to apply for inclusion. By submitting Form 6, eligible citizens can request the addition of their names to the electoral roll.

Online Platforms for Easy Access

To make the process more accessible, the updated voter list is available online. Residents can visit official platforms such as voters.eci.gov.in or ceouttarpradesh.nic.in to check their details. These portals provide direct access to electoral records and simplify the verification process for users across the state.

Step-by-Step Process to Check Details

To locate your name, visit the Election Commission’s official website and navigate to the electoral roll section. Select Uttar Pradesh as the state and choose the final roll for 2026.

After that, select your district—such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Mau, or Agra—along with your assembly constituency and polling booth. Enter your personal details, including your name, age, and either your father’s or spouse’s name, to begin the search.

The voter list will be displayed in PDF format, which can be downloaded for convenience. Users can then search within the document to confirm whether their name appears on the list.

Importance of Verifying Details Before Elections

The final electoral roll serves as the official document used during elections, and only those listed are eligible to cast their vote. With polling processes relying strictly on this database, verifying details in advance becomes essential.

Officials have emphasized that early verification can help voters avoid last-minute issues on election day. The release of the final list marks an important step in preparing for upcoming electoral activities in the state.
