TrafficAccident – Four Killed After Car Crashes Into Truck on NH-9

TrafficAccident –  A devastating road accident claimed four lives and left two others critically injured after a WagonR car collided with a truck on National Highway-9 in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district early Wednesday morning.

The incident took place near a Nayara petrol pump at Khyalipur Dhal under the Gajraula police station limits at around 4 am on May 20. According to police officials, the impact of the collision was extremely severe, leaving the car completely crushed and trapping several passengers inside.

Victims Identified by Police

Authorities confirmed that the deceased included the car driver, Mohammad Salman, a resident of Rampur district. The three other victims were identified as Naseem, Haris, and Mashooq, all natives of Malda district in West Bengal.

Police officials stated that all the passengers were associated with a madrasa in Varanasi and were travelling from Bareilly towards Delhi at the time of the accident. They were reportedly heading to catch a train for their onward journey to Varanasi when the tragedy occurred.

Circle Officer Anjali Kataria said the group had been travelling during the early morning hours when their vehicle rammed into the truck on the highway. Investigators are examining the circumstances that may have led to the collision.

Two Died on the Spot

Emergency teams and local police rushed to the accident site soon after receiving information from passersby and highway commuters. Officials said two people lost their lives instantly because of the heavy impact, while two others succumbed to injuries while being transported to a nearby hospital.

Photographs from the scene showed extensive damage to the front portion of the WagonR, indicating the force with which the vehicle struck the truck. Rescue workers had to work carefully to remove the victims and injured passengers from the wreckage.

The accident caused temporary disruption to traffic movement on NH-9 as police and emergency responders carried out rescue and clearance operations.

Injured Shifted to Higher Medical Facility

Two injured passengers, identified as Sunnat and Hasnain, both residents of Malda in West Bengal, suffered serious injuries in the crash. After receiving initial treatment at a local medical facility, they were referred to a larger hospital for advanced care due to their critical condition.

Doctors attending to the injured are closely monitoring their health condition. Officials have informed the families of the victims and injured passengers about the incident.

Investigation Underway

Police have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Initial findings suggest that the collision occurred suddenly during low-visibility early morning conditions, though officials have not yet confirmed whether overspeeding, driver fatigue, or other factors played a role.

Authorities are also gathering details about the truck involved in the crash and questioning individuals connected to the vehicle as part of the inquiry.

Road accidents on major highways continue to raise safety concerns across Uttar Pradesh, especially during nighttime and early morning travel hours. Officials regularly advise motorists to maintain speed limits and remain cautious while driving on busy highways.

The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination, and further legal procedures are being carried out by local police.
