Security Measures –  The Uttar Pradesh government has issued detailed instructions to district authorities ahead of Bakrid celebrations, focusing on security, public order, sanitation, and regulated arrangements for prayers and animal sacrifice across the state.

Statewide Directions Issued Before Bakrid

The administration has directed officials in all districts to ensure that animal sacrifice does not take place in public areas. Authorities have also been instructed to prevent traffic disruptions caused by public prayers and to maintain smooth movement on roads during the festival period.

Officials confirmed that prayers and Qurbani activities will only be permitted at approved locations. The state government has also reiterated that the sacrifice of prohibited animals will not be allowed under any circumstances. Alongside physical security arrangements, district administrations have been asked to closely monitor social media platforms to avoid the spread of misinformation or content that could disturb communal harmony.

Preparations Reviewed in Kanpur Dehat

In Kanpur Dehat, police and civil administration teams carried out inspections of Eidgahs and reviewed festival arrangements in advance of Bakrid. Senior officials interacted with local representatives and appealed to residents to celebrate the occasion peacefully while following all official guidelines.

Superintendent of Police Shraddha Narendra Pandey stated that preparations in the district had been completed after reviewing all major prayer locations. According to officials, Kanpur Dehat has 167 mosques and 36 Eidgahs where prayers are expected to take place.

Authorities estimated that several Eidgahs would witness gatherings ranging from 500 to over 1,000 people. Officials said special arrangements had been made at locations expected to witness larger crowds to ensure orderly prayers and crowd management.

Police officials also informed residents about proper disposal procedures after Qurbani and urged everyone to cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace and cleanliness throughout the celebrations.

Pilibhit Administration Focuses on Cleanliness and Security

In Pilibhit district, peace committee meetings were organised to review arrangements related to Eid-ul-Adha. District officials discussed public safety, sanitation, and uninterrupted supply of essential services during the festival.

District Magistrate Gyanendra Singh advised residents not to offer prayers in public spaces and reminded citizens to strictly follow rules related to restricted animals and hygiene standards. Officials from the electricity and water departments were also instructed to ensure continuous services during the festival days.

Superintendent of Police Sukirti Madhav said local stakeholders had been briefed regarding security arrangements and festival guidelines. According to police officials, the meetings also included discussions on grievance redressal systems, preparations for Ganga Dussehra, and action against unlawful activities.

The administration further directed authorities to organise flag marches in sensitive areas to strengthen public confidence and maintain law and order.

Peace Committee Meetings Conducted in Bhadohi

In Bhadohi district, officials held meetings at village, tehsil, and police station levels to coordinate preparations for both Ganga Dussehra and Bakrid celebrations.

District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar said the administration was working closely with members of different communities to ensure peaceful observance of both festivals. Authorities noted that Bakrid celebrations would take place on May 27 or 28 depending on the moon sighting.

Officials said discussions during the meetings focused on coordination between departments, security deployment, and public cooperation to avoid any untoward incidents during the festival period.

Drone Monitoring and Patrols Increased in Basti

Basti district administration has also intensified security measures ahead of Bakrid. Superintendent of Police Yashveer Singh said surveillance systems had been strengthened through drone monitoring and increased police patrolling across sensitive areas.

According to officials, peace committee meetings were held regularly to spread awareness regarding the government’s instructions on public prayers and animal sacrifice. Police teams have also been directed to remain alert throughout the celebrations.

Chief Minister Reviews Festival Preparedness

Earlier this week, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials regarding Bakrid preparations across the state. During the meeting, directions were issued concerning prayer arrangements, security deployment, sanitation management, and strict implementation of festival guidelines.
