BJP Training Programme Begins in Gorakhpur

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the two-day Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Training Mega-Campaign 2026 in Gorakhpur, where party leaders and workers from different districts gathered to participate in discussions focused on ideology, governance and organisational development. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the programme was designed to deepen workers’ understanding of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s guiding principles and long-term vision.

During his speech, Yogi Adityanath recalled the contributions of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, noting that his public life was shaped by the values of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh before he took up responsibilities in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. He said Upadhyaya’s ideas continue to influence the party’s organisational approach and public policies.

Emphasis on Antyodaya in Public Policy

The Chief Minister stressed that the principle of Antyodaya, which focuses on improving the lives of the most disadvantaged sections of society, should remain at the centre of governance. According to him, every policy related to administration and economic planning should prioritise those who stand at the lowest level of the social and economic ladder.

He stated that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya introduced this philosophy into Indian political thought, making the welfare of the last person in society a key objective of governance. Yogi Adityanath said the concept continues to guide the government’s development programmes and decision-making process.

Welfare Schemes Highlighted During Address

Speaking about the Union government’s welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister said India has witnessed significant social and economic changes over the past 12 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed to several flagship programmes that, according to him, have improved the quality of life for millions of citizens across the country.

Among the initiatives mentioned were the construction of toilets for economically weaker households, the distribution of permanent housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, expansion of household tap water connections and the implementation of healthcare coverage through Ayushman Bharat. He also referred to the free food grain distribution programme that continues to support a large number of beneficiaries.

Focus on Poverty Reduction and Inclusive Growth

Yogi Adityanath said government welfare measures have played a major role in improving living standards and creating opportunities for economically weaker families. He stated that around 25 crore people have moved above the poverty line and entered the middle-income category, enabling broader participation in the country’s development process.

He added that access to healthcare, food security and housing has strengthened social welfare while contributing to economic progress. According to the Chief Minister, these initiatives reflect an approach that combines public welfare with national development and seeks to ensure that growth reaches every section of society.

Public Interaction During Gorakhpur Visit

Before attending the training programme, the Chief Minister met citizens during the Janta Darshan session held at the Gorakhnath Temple premises in Gorakhpur. During the interaction, he listened to public grievances and reviewed issues raised by visitors. He also visited the temple’s gaushala, where he spent time feeding cattle before proceeding to the official event.

The two-day training campaign is expected to include discussions on organisational responsibilities, governance priorities and the ideological framework that guides the Bharatiya Janata Party’s activities across the region.
