NewsUpdate – Yogi Adityanath Flags Possible Conspiracy After Noida Protests

NewsUpdate – Violence that erupted during a protest by garment industry workers in Noida has prompted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to warn of a possible larger plot aimed at disturbing the state’s progress. The unrest, which began as a demand for higher wages, escalated on Monday, raising concerns about law and order in one of the state’s key industrial hubs.

Chief Minister Raises Concerns Over External Influence

Addressing the situation, the chief minister suggested that certain elements unhappy with the state’s economic growth might be attempting to exploit worker grievances. He indicated that there could be efforts to revive extremist tendencies, including those associated with Naxalism, which has largely declined across the country in recent years.

In an official statement, he emphasized that while such movements have been nearly eliminated, attempts to bring them back cannot be ruled out. He urged law enforcement agencies to remain alert and act decisively against any disruptive forces trying to incite unrest.

Appeal for Calm and Responsible Protest

Alongside his warning, Adityanath appealed directly to the protesting workers to maintain restraint and avoid violence. He reiterated that the government remains committed to addressing legitimate concerns of labourers and ensuring their welfare.

The administration has also stressed that peaceful dialogue remains the most effective way to resolve disputes. Authorities have been instructed to engage with workers constructively while ensuring that public order is not compromised.

High-Level Committee Formed for Dialogue

To address the situation, the state government has constituted a high-level committee tasked with initiating discussions between all stakeholders. The panel is being led by the Industrial Development Commissioner and includes the Additional Chief Secretary for Labour and Employment.

An official from Kanpur has been appointed as the member secretary. The committee also includes representation from both labour unions and industrial bodies, ensuring that multiple perspectives are taken into account.

Sources indicate that the committee reached Noida shortly after the unrest and has begun assessing the ground situation. It is expected to submit recommendations to the government after reviewing workers’ demands and industry concerns.

Police Action Against Misinformation

In parallel, law enforcement agencies have taken action against the spread of misinformation related to the protests. The Noida police have registered a First Information Report against two social media accounts accused of circulating misleading content about the agitation.

Officials believe that such online activity may have contributed to tensions on the ground. Authorities are now closely monitoring digital platforms to prevent further escalation caused by rumours or unverified claims.

Heightened Security Across Industrial Regions

Following the incident, several industrial districts in Uttar Pradesh have been placed on high alert. These include Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, and Meerut—regions that play a significant role in the state’s manufacturing and employment landscape.

The chief minister has directed industrial development authorities to establish direct communication channels with factory managements, worker groups, and industry representatives. The aim is to identify issues early and prevent them from escalating into larger conflicts.

Focus on Labour Rights and Industrial Stability

The government has reiterated its commitment to enforcing labour laws across all districts. Officials have been instructed to ensure that workers’ rights, safety, and dignity are upheld in every industrial unit.

At the same time, authorities are working to maintain a balance between protecting workers’ interests and ensuring that industrial activity continues without disruption. The administration views stability in industrial areas as essential for sustained economic growth and employment generation.

The developments in Noida highlight the challenges of managing labour relations in rapidly growing industrial regions. With the formation of a dedicated committee and increased vigilance, the state government is aiming to restore normalcy while addressing the underlying concerns that triggered the protests.
