The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has set the toll prices for this route at Rs 245 for round-trip travel and Rs 160 for one-way travel.

Despite the implementation of the revised tariffs, commuters are voicing concerns about the entire cost, particularly the reported two-and-a-half-fold rise in the last six months.

Building the Mathura-Bareilly Highway
Using a two-phase construction technique, the 66-kilometer Mathura-Bareilly Highway—which runs from the Vahanpur hamlet to the Mathura Refinery near Hathras Junction—has been finished.

First Phase: The development started on the section between Vahanpur and Koyal village, and it was first made accessible to the public in May 2025, according to a report on Jagran.com. At this time, tolls were introduced; they were originally fixed at Rs 40 for the return journey and Rs 60 for the one-way travel.

Phase Two: In the second phase, an overbridge was built over the Mathura-Kasganj railway route close to Koyal village. The last section of the highway up to the Mathura Refinery was then completed by extending it via the Raya bypass.

The new toll rates for the Shiva Corporation-managed Mathura-Bareilly Highway have been formally established by the NHAI. Locals and frequent commuters are worried about the finalized prices, which are Rs 160 for a one-way travel and Rs 245 for a circular trip for automobiles and light trucks. They believe the new fees are too high.
