Government – Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Set to Review Key Policy and Infrastructure Decisions
Government –Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to preside over a State Cabinet meeting on Tuesday morning at his official residence, where ministers are likely to consider and approve more than 20 proposals covering infrastructure, education, agriculture, administrative reforms, and public welfare.
Cabinet Expected to Clear Multiple Key Proposals
Among the major items on the agenda is the proposal to present the state’s supplementary budget in the Legislature during the ongoing Monsoon Session. The Cabinet is also scheduled to examine the estimated project cost for the proposed Jewar Link Expressway, which will connect with the Ganga Expressway through Bulandshahr, a move aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and supporting economic growth.
Another significant proposal seeks amendments to the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Council Act, 2004. If approved, madrasas across the state will no longer be authorized to award the Kamil and Fazil degrees, bringing changes to the existing framework governing madrasa education.
Administrative and Development Initiatives
The Cabinet agenda also includes the proposal to establish the Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Regional Development Authority, which is expected to focus on planned regional development and coordinated infrastructure planning.
In addition, ministers are likely to consider approving the transfer of government land without charge for the construction of seven multi-purpose hubs across different parts of the state. A proposal for creating a Nomadic Development Board has also been listed for discussion, reflecting efforts to address the needs of nomadic communities through a dedicated institutional framework.
Two separate proposals prepared by the Information Technology and Electronics Department are also expected to be placed before the Cabinet for approval.
Focus on Welfare and Agricultural Schemes
The meeting will also review proposed revisions to the implementation guidelines of the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0. The scheme is designed to support skilled workers and traditional artisans by improving access to financial assistance and employment opportunities.
Agriculture-related matters are also expected to receive attention. The Cabinet will consider proposals to implement the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Bima Yojana and the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme in accordance with the latest guidelines issued by the Government of India, with the objective of strengthening insurance coverage for farmers.
Another agenda item includes extending for a second five-year term an agreement originally signed on February 6, 2015, for the continuation of a community development project. A proposal associated with the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) is also scheduled to be discussed during the meeting.
Chief Minister Highlights Legislative Priorities
Ahead of the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the opening day of the Monsoon Session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Monday. He emphasized that the Assembly serves as an essential democratic institution where representatives can raise public concerns and seek practical solutions.
The Chief Minister said the session should focus on issues affecting economically weaker sections, farmers, young people, and women. He also noted the importance of the current period, pointing to the significance of the Shravan month for agriculture, the ongoing admission season for students, and the annual Kanwar Yatra.
Political Exchange During Assembly Session
During his interaction with the media, Adityanath also responded to criticism from the Samajwadi Party regarding allegations linked to Ram Mandir donation funds. He countered the opposition’s remarks by stating that the party had previously opposed the construction of the temple.
He further said that legislators have the responsibility to present concerns from their respective constituencies and that the government remains committed to addressing those issues through constructive discussion. According to the Chief Minister, making effective use of the Legislature remains one of the priorities of the BJP-led NDA government in Uttar Pradesh.
