Encounter – Uttar Pradesh Police Operations Lead to Arrests in Bulandshahr and Ballia
Encounter – The Uttar Pradesh Police continued its campaign against wanted criminals with two separate operations in Bulandshahr and Ballia districts, resulting in the arrest of two accused individuals. One of those detained is linked to a recent murder case, while the other had been evading arrest despite a cash reward announced for information leading to his capture.

Murder Case Accused Held in Bulandshahr
In Bulandshahr, police arrested Faizan Qureshi, who is accused of involvement in the killing of Vipin, a resident of Sikandrabad. Authorities had recovered Vipin’s body on June 2 from a drain situated near a closed industrial unit along Chola Road, prompting an intensive investigation.
According to investigators, Faizan Qureshi and another suspect, identified as Zaid Saifi, allegedly attacked and killed Vipin before attempting to hide evidence of the crime. Police claim the body was placed inside a sack and discarded in the drain. Officials also suspect that the victim’s e-rickshaw was taken by the accused and that the alleged murder occurred during the commission of a robbery.
Police Recover Stolen Vehicle
Police officials stated that they received information suggesting the stolen e-rickshaw was being moved for disposal. Acting on the lead, law enforcement teams tracked the suspect late Friday night. During the operation, an exchange of fire reportedly took place between the accused and the police team.
While Zaid Saifi managed to flee from the location, Faizan Qureshi sustained injuries during retaliatory action by police and was subsequently taken into custody. The stolen e-rickshaw was recovered from his possession. Officers also seized a country-made firearm along with live cartridges during the arrest.
Investigation Continues to Trace Second Suspect
Circle Officer Bhaskar Mishra said that during questioning, the arrested accused allegedly admitted his role in the incident. Police teams are continuing search operations to locate and apprehend the absconding co-accused. Authorities indicated that further evidence is being collected as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.
Rewarded Criminal Arrested in Ballia
In a separate development, Ballia police arrested Dheeraj Singh, a wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his arrest. The operation took place in the Dokti police station area following intelligence inputs regarding his movement near the Dokti Dala region.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Verma said officers set up surveillance and attempted to intercept the accused late on Friday night. During the operation, Singh allegedly tried to escape and opened fire on the police team.
Firearm Seized During Operation
Police responded in self-defence, resulting in Singh sustaining a gunshot injury to his left leg. He was immediately taken into custody and shifted to the district hospital for treatment. Officers also recovered a firearm from his possession.
Authorities stated that the accused is associated with multiple criminal cases registered in different police stations. Legal procedures related to his arrest are currently underway, and investigators are reviewing his alleged involvement in other pending matters.
The two operations reflect the continued efforts of Uttar Pradesh Police to track down wanted suspects and address serious criminal cases through targeted enforcement actions across different districts of the state.
