Crime News – Police in Muzaffarnagar carried out a series of encounters over a period of less than two days, leading to the arrest of several accused allegedly linked to robbery, theft, and snatching incidents across the district.
Police Operations Conducted Across Several Areas
In a major police operation in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district, law enforcement teams carried out eight separate encounters within nearly 36 hours. According to officials, the action resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals who were allegedly involved in a range of criminal activities, including robbery, dacoity, mobile phone snatching, and animal theft.
Authorities said that during the operations, 10 accused persons suffered bullet injuries and were later admitted to hospitals for medical treatment. The encounters were conducted in different police station jurisdictions as officers intensified efforts against criminal networks operating in the district.
Encounters Reported in Five Police Station Limits
Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar stated that the operations took place in the Budhana, Mansurpur, City, New Mandi, and Shahpur police station areas. Police teams reportedly acted on intelligence inputs and ongoing investigations related to recent criminal incidents reported in the region.
Officials maintained that the operations were carried out following standard policing procedures. Security measures were also increased in sensitive areas after the encounters to maintain public order and prevent any untoward incidents.
Injured Accused Shifted to Hospital
Police confirmed that 10 of the arrested suspects sustained injuries during the exchange of fire with officers. Medical assistance was immediately provided, and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment under police supervision.
Authorities have not yet released detailed medical updates regarding the condition of those injured. However, officials indicated that all necessary legal procedures are being followed in connection with the arrests and subsequent investigation.
Names of Several Arrested Individuals Released
Among those arrested are individuals identified as Shahrukh Shekhy, Manish, Shivam, Salman, Khushnaseeb, Amar, Guddu, Abhishek, Arshad, and Momin. Police said additional details regarding the remaining accused and their alleged involvement in different criminal cases are being verified.
Investigators are also examining whether the arrested suspects have links to wider criminal gangs active in western Uttar Pradesh. Officers are reportedly reviewing past records and collecting evidence connected to previous incidents of theft and violent crime.
Investigation Continues After Arrests
Police officials stated that the investigation remains ongoing and further questioning of the accused is underway. Authorities are expected to gather additional information related to criminal activities in the district through interrogation and forensic examination.
