Ayodhya police: A Kashmiri man is detained by for allegedly doing namaz inside Ram Mandir

Ayodhya police: On Saturday, January 10, Ayodhya Police apprehended a Kashmiri man who was purportedly seen doing the Islamic prayer known as namaz inside the Ram Mandir. The news agency IANS reports that the person is Ahmed Sheikh, a 50-year-old Srinagar resident.

In addition to interviewing him, police have detained a number of Kashmiri shawl vendors. IANS reports that many individuals are being questioned at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station. On Friday, Ahmed visited the shrine on the temple grounds.

Later, according to India Today, which quoted authorities, Ahmed was sitting close to the Sita Rasoi area, where he was reportedly getting ready to give namaz. When they saw what he was doing, the site’s security guards arrested him. Later, he was turned over to the Ayodhya police so they could look into it further.

The arrested Ahmed is being questioned by police and other security personnel to learn how he got inside the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Police discovered that he was in possession of cashews and raisins. The suspect allegedly informed detectives that he was going to Ajmer, according to sources.
