On Monday, officials issued an alert predicting strong winds and light rainfall in parts of Jaipur, Alwar, and nearby districts, offering a modest break from the ongoing heatwave.
Heatwave Conditions Persist Across State
Large areas of the state remain under the grip of extreme heat, with daytime temperatures consistently ranging between 44°C and 46°C. These figures are notably higher than seasonal averages, intensifying discomfort for residents. Weather experts confirmed that the heatwave is widespread and likely to continue in the coming days.
Barmer recorded the highest temperature in the past 24 hours at 46.4°C, making it the hottest location in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature was observed at Jawai Dam in Pali district, where the mercury dropped to 22.8°C. Despite the heat, Gangapur City in Sawai Madhopur reported the highest rainfall during this period, measuring 6.0 mm.
Mixed Weather Patterns Observed
While heatwave conditions dominated most districts, some areas experienced brief changes in weather. Light rain, drizzle, and gusty winds were reported in isolated regions, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms. These developments provided short-lived relief but did not significantly alter the broader temperature trend.
Jaisalmer, often referred to as the Golden City, recorded a high of 46°C, closely following Barmer. Other cities, including Kota and Chittorgarh, also reported elevated temperatures of 45.2°C, reflecting the widespread intensity of the heat.
Cloud Cover and Dusty Winds in Several Districts
After a particularly hot Sunday, weather conditions began to shift slightly in parts of the state. By late afternoon, cloud cover developed over districts such as Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Chittorgarh. This was followed by light rainfall in some areas, along with dusty winds that briefly reduced surface temperatures.
Meteorological officials noted that these changes are part of localized weather activity and may not lead to sustained cooling. However, they can provide intermittent relief, especially during the later hours of the day.

According to the latest forecast, the heatwave is expected to persist across Rajasthan, with temperatures likely to remain above normal levels. However, there is a possibility of partial relief during afternoon and evening hours in select districts. Cloud formation, light rain, and isolated dust storms may continue to occur sporadically.
More noticeable changes in weather are expected between April 28 and April 30. During this period, several regions may witness thunderstorms, scattered rainfall, and even isolated hailstorm activity. These developments could bring a temporary dip in temperatures and improve overall conditions, though they are not expected to end the heatwave entirely.
