Weather – IndiGo Flights Disrupted by Adverse Conditions in UAE

Weather –  IndiGo Airlines has reported disruptions to its flight schedule for services operating to and from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, citing unstable weather conditions across parts of the United Arab Emirates. The airline on Tuesday advised passengers to be prepared for delays as operational teams respond to changing atmospheric conditions affecting both departures and arrivals.

Operations Affected by Unstable Weather

In a statement shared through its official communication channels, IndiGo said flights connecting key UAE destinations may not operate as planned due to unfavorable weather. The carrier acknowledged that travellers could face longer waiting periods at airports and inside aircraft as crews coordinate with airport authorities to manage the situation.

The airline emphasized that ground staff and onboard crew members are assisting passengers and working to minimize inconvenience. While disruptions remain dependent on local weather patterns, the company said efforts are underway to restore normal schedules as quickly as possible.

Temperature Surge and Hazy Conditions in Dubai

Weather monitoring agencies indicate that Dubai is currently experiencing unusually warm and hazy conditions. Forecast data shows daytime temperatures reaching around 31°C (88°F), with the perceived temperature slightly higher due to humidity. Similar heat levels have been recorded in Abu Dhabi, where the mercury has climbed to approximately 32°C (89°F).

Meteorologists note that a combination of rising temperatures, humidity, and suspended dust particles can significantly reduce visibility. Such conditions may complicate aircraft take-off and landing procedures, particularly during early morning and late evening hours when haze and fog tend to intensify.

Low Visibility Reported Near Dubai Airport

Latest observations from the vicinity of Dubai International Airport indicate dense fog during parts of the day, bringing visibility down to nearly 1.4 kilometers. Humidity levels have reached 100 percent, contributing to persistent mist and low cloud cover over the airport area.

Although surface temperatures were recorded at around 18°C during early hours, the heavy moisture in the air created challenging operating conditions. Aviation experts explain that when visibility drops below standard operational thresholds, air traffic controllers may space out aircraft movements, leading to cascading delays throughout the day.

Advisory for Passengers

In light of the evolving weather pattern, IndiGo has urged travellers to check their flight status through the airline’s website or mobile application before heading to the airport. Real-time updates are being provided to help passengers plan accordingly and avoid unnecessary waiting at terminals.

The airline also encouraged customers to stay in contact with customer support channels for rebooking options or revised departure timings if required. Officials stated that while weather-related disruptions are beyond operational control, passenger safety remains the top priority.

Impact on Regional Travel

Dubai and Abu Dhabi serve as major international transit hubs connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa. Even short-term disruptions at these airports can affect connecting flights across multiple regions. Travel industry observers say that weather-related delays are not uncommon during seasonal transitions when humidity levels fluctuate sharply.

Authorities continue to monitor conditions closely, and forecasts suggest that visibility may improve as temperatures stabilize later in the day. However, intermittent haze remains possible in the coming hours.

For now, passengers scheduled to travel between India and the UAE are advised to remain attentive to official updates. Airlines and airport teams are coordinating efforts to resume regular operations once atmospheric conditions allow safe movement of aircraft.
