Commuters Face Hours of Unexpected Delays
What is typically a short daily commute turned into a prolonged struggle for many residents. Faraz Ahmad, who lives in Mayur Vihar, experienced severe delays while heading to his workplace in Noida. His usual 45-minute journey stretched beyond two and a half hours, eventually forcing him to abandon the trip.
He described how he left home at 9 am expecting to reach his office on time, but traffic barely moved. With no signs of improvement and mounting frustration, he decided to return home using a temporary U-turn created by other stranded commuters. The situation, he said, was both exhausting and highly inconvenient.
Major Roads and Routes Severely Affected
Another commuter, Papia Dey, reported widespread congestion across Sectors 62 and 63. Anticipating delays of up to two hours, she chose not to travel through the affected route. Despite having a morning meeting nearby, she struggled to find transportation, as app-based cab services were unwilling to accept bookings in the congested area.
Eventually, she managed to reach Delhi through an alternative route, though it required significant time and effort. Many others shared similar experiences, highlighting the extent of disruption caused by the protests.
Social Media Flooded with Commuter Complaints
Frustration among commuters quickly surfaced online, with several individuals reporting being stuck in traffic for as long as four hours. Social media platforms became a space for real-time updates and grievances as people attempted to navigate the situation.
Authorities also used these platforms to inform the public. The Delhi Traffic Police issued advisories, warning commuters about blockades and urging them to avoid affected routes where possible.

The group highlighted concerns over the financial strain faced by migrant workers, stating that existing wages are no longer sufficient to meet rising living costs. The demand for revision has gained urgency in light of recent protests, reflecting growing dissatisfaction among workers.
