Temple – Saints Seek Wider Support for Proposed Krishna Janmabhoomi Kar Seva in Mathura
Temple – Krishna Janmabhoomi movement and Mathura temple developments continue to draw national attention—Swami Anand Swarup, the National President of Kali Sena, has appealed to saints and religious leaders from across India to extend united support for the proposed Kar Seva related to the Krishna Janmabhoomi issue, which has been suggested for August 9. He said the initiative should be carried out collectively under the guidance of respected spiritual leaders and emphasized that unity among the saint community would strengthen the message behind the programme.

Appeal for Collective Participation
Addressing the media on Sunday, Swami Anand Swarup said that August 9, observed as Kranti Diwas in India, would be a meaningful occasion for the proposed voluntary service if it proceeds under the leadership of saints. He also referred to earlier statements by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the construction of a Krishna temple, expressing hope that an official timeline for the project would be announced before the proposed date of the Kar Seva.
According to Swarup, if the government declares the schedule for the temple’s construction in advance, the need for the planned service may no longer remain. However, if no such announcement is made, he said supporters could participate in a symbolic manner while respecting the government’s position and ensuring that the programme remains peaceful.
Symbolic Message of Unity
Swami Anand Swarup stated that the objective of any symbolic participation would be to convey public support for the temple project without creating unnecessary difficulties for the administration. He also expressed the view that the longstanding issue should be resolved in a way that promotes harmony within society.
He further said he believes many people, including members of the Muslim community, wish to see a lasting resolution to the matter while preserving communal harmony and strengthening the spirit of unity across the country. His remarks reflected his expectation that the issue could be addressed through dialogue and lawful processes.
Saints Expected to Gather in Large Numbers
Speaking about the proposed programme, Swarup claimed that several hundred saints from Haridwar are likely to participate if the Kar Seva takes place. He estimated that nearly 600 to 700 religious leaders could join the event.
He added that whenever a nationwide appeal is made to the saint community, differences between religious groups are set aside, allowing them to work together for a common objective. According to him, such collective participation has traditionally been viewed as a sign of unity among spiritual organizations.
Hope for Official Announcement Before August 9
Swarup also voiced optimism that the government would make a significant announcement before August 9 regarding the future of the Krishna temple project. Referring to previous public statements by the Uttar Pradesh government, he said he hopes the next phase of work connected with the Krishna Janmabhoomi will begin soon.
He further remarked that after the completion of the Ram Mandir project in Ayodhya, attention is now focused on developments related to the Krishna temple. His comments reflected the expectations of those supporting the proposed Kar Seva and seeking clarity on future plans.
Akhara Parishad Extends Support
Meanwhile, Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri also expressed support for the proposed Kar Seva. Speaking to ANI, he said saints from different parts of the country have encouraged devotees to participate in the programme if it moves forward.
Puri stated that the shared demand among many seers is that construction of the Krishna temple should begin without unnecessary delay. Drawing a comparison with the participation of saints during the Ayodhya movement, he said devotees have been encouraged to gather in Mathura in support of the cause. According to him, the appeal reflects the sentiments expressed by several religious leaders in favour of early progress on the temple project.
