SEOTrends – The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Andhra Pradesh has concluded its discussions on seat distribution for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) set to contest three seats and the Jana Sena Party securing one seat. The decision was taken during a coordination meeting of alliance partners held on Thursday. Alongside electoral planning, leaders also reviewed preparations to showcase the achievements of the alliance government in the state and the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Alliance Plans Statewide Public Outreach
Following the meeting, senior NDA leaders announced a series of large-scale public programmes designed to inform citizens about welfare measures, governance reforms, and development projects undertaken over the past two years. The campaign will begin with a public gathering in Tirupati on June 9, followed by meetings in Amaravati on June 12 and Visakhapatnam on June 15.
According to alliance leaders, each event will focus on a specific theme. Welfare initiatives will be highlighted in Tirupati, governance-related achievements will be discussed in Amaravati, while the Visakhapatnam programme will focus on development and infrastructure progress. Additional district-level activities are scheduled between June 13 and June 20.
TDP Highlights Governance Achievements
Andhra Pradesh TDP President Palla Srinivasa Rao stated that the alliance intends to take its governance record directly to the people. He said the campaign would present the accomplishments of both the state and Central governments over the last two years through coordinated outreach efforts.
Rao also noted that organisational matters were reviewed during the meeting, including preparations related to upcoming political activities. He confirmed that district-level events would be conducted across Andhra Pradesh and that a detailed schedule would be released in the coming days. He reiterated that the TDP would contest three Rajya Sabha seats, while one seat would go to the Jana Sena Party under the agreed formula.
Focus on Welfare and Development Initiatives
Minister Nadendla Manohar said the alliance would use the outreach programme to communicate major welfare and development measures implemented jointly by the state and Central governments. He added that Union Ministers are expected to participate in several events organised by NDA partners across the state.
Manohar explained that the campaign would highlight 24 major initiatives completed during the alliance government’s first 24 months in office. He said the objective is not only to inform the public about policy achievements but also to strengthen engagement between the government and citizens.
The minister further stated that the alliance would seek continued public support through these programmes. He also indicated that the Jana Sena Party would announce its Rajya Sabha candidate at a later stage through its leadership.
BJP Emphasises National and State Progress
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President P. V. N. Madhav said the campaign would focus on the benefits delivered through the alliance’s governance in Andhra Pradesh as well as the accomplishments of the Modi-led government at the national level over the past twelve years.
He explained that the initiative would showcase developmental changes brought by NDA administrations at both levels. According to Madhav, the Chief Minister suggested launching the campaign on June 9, coinciding with the anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking office.
Key Development Projects to Feature in Campaign
Madhav said several major development issues would be highlighted during the public outreach programme. These include industrial investments, progress on the Polavaram project, development efforts in Amaravati, and advancements related to the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone.
He also stressed that the BJP, TDP, and Jana Sena remain united in their commitment to the state’s growth. Referring to speculation about differences within the alliance, Madhav asserted that all three parties continue to work together with a common objective and remain focused on advancing Andhra Pradesh’s development agenda.
