ReliefEfforts – Security personnel, working alongside the local administration, conducted a blood donation drive in Bhaderwah on Saturday as part of ongoing humanitarian support efforts in the region. The initiative drew participation from members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who contributed blood to assist hospitals in handling emergency medical requirements.
CRPF personnel Tarun Kumar said the force remains committed to helping civilians during critical situations. He noted that officers from the 33 Battalion voluntarily joined the donation effort to ensure blood is available for accident victims and patients suffering from severe blood loss.
According to Kumar, the security forces are always prepared to extend support whenever local communities face emergencies. The camp was organised to improve access to life-saving medical resources and encourage public awareness about blood donation.
Army Continues Medical Assistance in Rajouri
The latest initiative follows a similar humanitarian effort carried out earlier this year by the Indian Army’s Romeo Force under the Rashtriya Rifles in Rajouri district. During that campaign, more than 20 units of blood were donated at Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri to strengthen emergency medical reserves.
Hospital officials welcomed the support, highlighting the importance of maintaining adequate blood supplies, particularly after road accidents and medical emergencies in remote areas. Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Javed Iqbal stated that Army personnel have consistently responded whenever urgent blood donations were required.
He explained that the donated blood would remain available for immediate use during emergencies, helping doctors provide timely treatment to patients in critical condition.
Local Residents Appreciate Humanitarian Support
Residents of Rajouri praised the Army’s continued assistance, especially in areas where healthcare resources are often limited. Mohammad Azam Choudhary, a local resident, said road accidents occur frequently in the district, while blood shortages remain a serious challenge for hospitals.
He added that the Army has repeatedly stepped forward during difficult situations and has earned the trust of local communities through consistent humanitarian support. According to residents, such initiatives have played a significant role in saving lives during emergencies.
Officials associated with the campaign said these efforts reflect the broader commitment of the armed forces toward public welfare in addition to their security responsibilities. They stressed that community outreach and civilian assistance remain important aspects of their work in the region.
Veterinary Camp Organised in Remote Villages
Apart from medical assistance for people, the Army also recently organised a free veterinary care camp in the hilly Dharhal block of Rajouri sector under Operation Sadbhavana. The programme was designed to support livestock owners living in remote villages where access to veterinary services remains difficult due to challenging terrain and weather conditions.
The camp took place in Ujhan village and was attended by veterinary specialists, including Dr. Wakar and Dr. Qurat Al, along with supporting staff members. Medical teams examined and treated livestock brought by villagers from several nearby areas.
Local representatives and community members, including former Sarpanch Wasim Mirza, Shabir Mirza, Javed Iqbal, and Mohd Rashid Mirza, were also present during the event.
Hundreds Benefit From Outreach Programme
Officials said the veterinary initiative benefited residents from multiple villages such as Ujhan, Malhut, Rakiban, Nadian, Kothran, and Leeran. Hundreds of livestock owners attended the camp to seek treatment and medical guidance for their animals.
According to released figures, nearly 290 villagers participated in the programme, including 266 men and 24 women. Authorities described the response as encouraging and said such camps help improve rural livelihoods by supporting animal health in remote communities.
The recent blood donation drives and welfare programmes have further strengthened coordination between security forces and civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting continued efforts toward community welfare and emergency preparedness
