Recruitment – KTR Criticises Police Action During Job Aspirants’ Protest in Hyderabad

Recruitment –  Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday expressed strong criticism over the reported police action against unemployed youth and police recruitment candidates who staged a protest in Hyderabad’s Dilsukhnagar area. He alleged that the response from authorities reflected an undemocratic approach toward individuals seeking employment opportunities in the state.

Allegations Over Handling of Demonstrations

According to KTR, several students and members of a Joint Action Committee (JAC) were participating in a peaceful demonstration demanding recruitment notifications and the filling of vacant government positions. He claimed that police intervened during the protest, resulting in detentions and the use of force against participants.

The BRS leader stated that concerns regarding recruitment delays have been raised repeatedly over the past several days in Hyderabad and at various university campuses. Aspirants, he said, have been urging the government to release notifications and accelerate the hiring process for vacant posts.

Questions Raised Over Employment Commitments

KTR also questioned whether the government’s response was consistent with its stated commitment to people-centric governance. He argued that unemployed youth were expecting concrete action on job creation and recruitment, but had instead witnessed delays and uncertainty.

Referring to promises made before the state elections, he alleged that the ruling Congress party had pledged large-scale recruitment initiatives. These, he said, included filling around two lakh government vacancies, releasing major recruitment notifications, and introducing a structured job calendar. According to KTR, those commitments have yet to be fulfilled.

Concerns Over Police Constable Vacancies

The former minister further highlighted the issue of vacant police constable positions in Telangana. He claimed that more than 20,000 constable posts remain unfilled across the state. However, he alleged that the government is considering recruitment for only a fraction of those vacancies.

KTR said such a move would disappoint thousands of candidates who have spent years preparing for competitive examinations. Many aspirants, he noted, have continued their preparation despite financial challenges, investing significant time and resources in coaching and training programs with hopes of securing government employment.

Demand for Mega Recruitment Notification

Calling for immediate corrective measures, the BRS leader urged the government to release a comprehensive recruitment notification covering all available constable vacancies. He also demanded age-relaxation benefits for eligible candidates who may have been affected by delays in the recruitment process.

In addition, he called for the unconditional release of students and JAC representatives who were reportedly detained during the protest. He maintained that individuals participating in peaceful demonstrations should not face punitive action for raising employment-related concerns.

BRS Pledges Continued Support

KTR reiterated that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi would continue supporting unemployed youth and job seekers until their demands receive a satisfactory response. He said the party would stand alongside students and recruitment aspirants seeking greater clarity and progress on government hiring.

The BRS leader also warned that repeated use of force against peaceful demonstrators could weaken public confidence in the administration. He stressed that addressing employment concerns through dialogue and timely recruitment measures would be a more effective way to resolve growing dissatisfaction among job aspirants
