RAS Transfers – Rajasthan Government Reshuffles 178 Officers Across Key Departments

RAS Transfers –  The Rajasthan government carried out a major bureaucratic overhaul late Friday night, issuing transfer and posting orders for 178 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers in one of the state’s largest administrative exercises in recent months. The move affects multiple departments, district-level offices, universities, and ministerial establishments.

Ras reshuffle 178 officers across departments

Wide-Ranging Changes Across Administrative Setup

The reshuffle includes fresh postings for officers who had been awaiting assignments, changes in ministerial support staff, appointments in state universities, and transfers involving several senior administrative positions. Government officials indicated that the exercise was aimed at improving departmental efficiency and filling important vacancies across the state administration.

Among the decisions announced, 12 officers who had been placed under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) status received new assignments. At the same time, the government withdrew transfer orders issued earlier for five officers.

Seed Corporation Gets New Leadership

One of the notable developments involves the Rajasthan State Seed Corporation, where a change in leadership has been made during a period of public attention surrounding an alleged bribery case connected to one of the corporation’s independent directors.

Gaurav Chaturvedi, who previously served as Executive Director, has been appointed Managing Director of the corporation. He replaces Vinita Singh, who has now been posted as Chief Executive Officer of the Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Council.

Vinita Singh had taken charge as Managing Director of the Seed Corporation in May and served in the position for a little over a month before the latest administrative changes were announced.

APO Officers Receive Fresh Responsibilities

RAS officer Pinky Meena, who was previously under APO status, has been assigned as Assistant Director (Public Service) in the Administrative Reforms and Coordination Department in Sawai Madhopur.

Meena had remained without a regular posting for several years after facing suspension in a bribery-related case. Following legal proceedings and her reinstatement, she was placed under APO status before receiving the current posting.

Ministerial Staff Also Reassigned

The reshuffle has also led to changes among officers attached to state ministers. Senior RAS officer Dr. Vibhu Kaushik has been appointed Special Assistant to Health Minister Gajendra Singh. Before this appointment, Kaushik was serving as Additional Director in the State Insurance and Provident Fund Department.

His administrative experience includes a previous tenure as Executive Director of the Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation as well as service as Special Assistant to former minister Lalchand Kataria.

Balwant Singh Ligri, who was serving as Special Assistant to the Health Minister, has been appointed Executive Director of the Rajasthan State Beverages Corporation.

Several other ministerial support positions were also revised. Rakesh Kumar has been transferred as Land Settlement Officer in Sikar, while Chandan Dubey has been appointed Deputy Secretary to the Governor. Mukesh Kumar Kalal, previously serving in the Governor’s Secretariat, has been assigned as Special Assistant to Rural Development Minister Otaram Dewasi.

Earlier Transfer Orders Withdrawn

The state government also reversed a number of transfer decisions made during previous rounds of administrative restructuring.

The transfer of Pushkar Mittal from Manoharthana to Deeg has been cancelled, allowing him to continue in his existing role. Similarly, orders relating to Arshdeep Brar’s transfer to HCM Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration were withdrawn.

Another significant cancellation involved Mohammad Tahir, whose transfer order issued in September 2025 was revoked nearly nine months later.

New Registrars Appointed in Universities

The administrative exercise also covered higher education institutions. Several universities across Rajasthan have received new registrars as part of the latest postings.

Anurag Bhargava has been appointed Registrar of Vardhman Mahaveer Open University in Kota. Murlidhar Pratihar will serve as Registrar of the University of Kota, while Chandrabhan Singh Bhati has been assigned to Jai Narain Vyas University in Jodhpur. Raju Lal Gurjar has been appointed Registrar of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences in Jaipur.

Focus on Administrative Efficiency

Officials view the large-scale reshuffle as an effort to strengthen governance mechanisms, improve departmental coordination, and ensure that important administrative positions are adequately staffed. The changes are expected to have an impact across multiple sectors of state administration as the government continues its efforts to streamline public service delivery and organizational functioning.
