Rajasthan: 40 kilos of mephedrone was seized when a drug plant in was uncovered

Rajasthan: An illicit MD (mephedrone) drug production facility was uncovered by the District Special Team (DST) and Sadar Police Station in Rajasthan’s Barmer during a combined search on a home in Kerli Adarsh Chawa hamlet.

The operation, which was carried out in cooperation with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jodhpur, resulted in the seizure of narcotics, chemicals, equipment, and cars valued at almost Rs 85 crore.

According to Superintendent of authorities Narendra Singh Meena, authorities had specific information that Motaram Jat, a well-known smuggler, and his friends were operating a drug production plant out of Bhairaram Jat’s home. In response to the report, SP Meena personally visited the community and encircled the area with a heavy police presence.

Police found 99 kg and 931 grams of liquid chemical that was being dried on the roof and 39 kg and 777 grams of ready MD powder during the search. According to officials, the liquid chemical’s market worth would have grown by an additional Rs 50 crore if it had been completely processed.

The residence had been transformed into a top-notch drug lab. A digital thermometer, vacuum pump, iron furnace, deep freezer, four churning machines, 19 huge glass containers, many 100-liter tanks, and other processing equipment were confiscated by the police.

Allegedly used for drug smuggling, a Kia automobile and a Scorpio SUV were also taken from the scene.

Motaram Jat was recognized by SP Meena as the factory’s mastermind. The Balotra and Sri Ganganagar police have issued a reward of Rs 15,000 for Motaram, a wanted criminal. Together with another accomplice and his colleague Dinesh Giri, he was able to escape the scene.

All three of the accused have been recognized by police, and special teams have been formed to make arrests. The NCB Jodhpur team has been brought in to help with the investigation because of the gravity of the case and the huge worth of the drugs that were seized on the global market.

A complaint has been filed in accordance with Section 111(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and pertinent provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

According to SP Meena, the seizure was one of the largest recoveries in Barmer police history. Investigations are being conducted to identify both forward and backward connections in an effort to destroy the whole narcotics network.

He said, “The fugitive accused will be taken into custody shortly.”

An important factor in the operation’s success was DST policeman Ramswaroop. Along with a sizable police presence, the squad included Additional SP Nitesh Arya, Circle Officer Ramesh Kumar, Probationary RPS Manju Chauhan, DST In-charge Adesh Kumar, Sadar SHO Kartar Singh, and Women Police Station Officer Devichand Dhaka.
