Rain: As the low pressure system continues, IMD forecasts significant in seven Tennessee districts

Rain: As an atmospheric low-pressure system continues to dominate the southern coastal area of Tamil Nadu and the nearby Gulf of Mannar, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in seven districts on Monday.

Authorities are warning people to exercise care as the weather system is predicted to bring heavy rainfall to areas of the Cauvery delta and the adjacent areas.

Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Pudukkottai are among the districts that are anticipated to get significant rainfall today, according to the IMD.

Heavy rainstorms are also expected to occur throughout the day in the Karaikal area of Puducherry, which is a union territory.

A continuous low-pressure trough over the southern Tamil Nadu coast, which is attracting moisture-laden winds from the sea, is the cause of the weather activity, according to meteorologists. Low-lying and delta areas are predicted to get very heavy rainfall, which may cause urban areas to become waterlogged and agricultural fields to flood.

Farmers and locals in susceptible regions have been encouraged by officials to exercise care and be vigilant.

According to the IMD, there will be further rainfall on Tuesday. While isolated areas in northern Tamil Nadu may also get light to moderate rains, substantial rain is expected in a few sites across the southern portion of the state.

Wet conditions are predicted to continue, although the amount of rainfall may be less intense than it was on Monday, according to the weather service.

The IMD has forecast moderate rainfall in several areas of Chennai. Throughout the day, the weather is expected to be dominated by cloudy sky, sporadic showers, and strong winds. Because short bursts of rain may impact traffic during peak hours, residents have been encouraged to schedule their journey appropriately. A private weather forecaster added to the prediction, predicting that Chennai would likely continue to have cold breezes and intense rainstorms.

In regions that are anticipated to see significant rainfall, crisis management teams have been maintained on standby while authorities constantly monitor the situation. As the weather system changes, further modifications are probably in store.
