PropertyFraud – Delhi Dentist Held Over Alleged Multi-Crore Property Scam
PropertyFraud – A Delhi-based dentist accused of duping several individuals through disputed property transactions has been taken into custody after remaining out of reach for several months. Investigators claim the accused collected more than Rs 1 crore by allegedly using the same property in multiple financial dealings without disclosing its existing liabilities.

Arrest Made After Months of Search
According to police officials, the accused has been identified as 44-year-old Majahar Khan, a resident of Yamuna Vihar in northeast Delhi. Authorities said he had been evading arrest for nearly seven months before being apprehended by the Crime Branch.
Police stated that Khan holds professional dental qualifications, including BDS and MDS degrees, and was locally known as “Dr Sahab”. Officers believe his professional reputation helped him gain the confidence of people who later entered into financial agreements with him.
Allegations Linked to Repeated Property Transactions
Investigators allege that Khan was involved in a series of fraudulent property-related transactions in which the same property was allegedly offered as security to multiple individuals. Police said the accused failed to inform buyers and lenders that the property had already been mortgaged with a private bank.
Officials added that several people were reportedly persuaded to invest money or enter financial arrangements based on assurances connected to the disputed property. Authorities suspect that the repeated use of the same asset in separate deals enabled the accused to obtain large sums of money from different parties.
Crime Branch Shares Details of Investigation
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pankaj Kumar said preliminary findings indicate that the accused knowingly concealed important financial details linked to the property. Police believe the property had already been pledged to a private financial institution before it was allegedly used again in other transactions.
Investigators are now examining documents, financial records, and transaction histories connected to the case. Officials said statements from victims are also being reviewed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Victims Report Major Financial Losses
Police sources indicated that multiple complainants approached authorities after facing financial losses connected to the alleged fraud. The combined amount involved in the case is estimated to be more than Rs 1 crore.
Authorities said the investigation is focused on identifying the complete network of transactions and determining whether additional individuals may have been affected. Officers are also trying to establish if any associates were involved in facilitating the alleged deals.
Legal Proceedings Underway
Police confirmed that legal proceedings against the accused are continuing under relevant sections related to cheating and financial fraud. Officials said further questioning is expected to help investigators uncover additional details regarding the transactions and the movement of funds.
The case has once again highlighted concerns surrounding property-related fraud in Delhi, particularly cases involving duplicate mortgages, hidden liabilities, and disputed ownership claims. Authorities have advised residents to carefully verify legal records, bank liabilities, and ownership documents before entering into any real estate agreement.
