Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Monday conveyed his sorrow over a fatal road accident involving a tourist bus transporting pilgrims from Nellore district. The incident occurred in Bihar’s Aurangabad district late on Sunday night and resulted in the deaths of three passengers while several others suffered injuries.
Chief Minister Reviews Situation
Describing the loss of lives as heartbreaking, the Chief Minister extended his condolences to the families of the deceased. According to an official statement, Naidu immediately sought detailed information from concerned officials and reviewed the medical assistance being provided to those injured in the accident.
Authorities informed him that the vehicle was carrying 46 pilgrims from Nellore when it met with an accident near Aurangabad. Three passengers reportedly died at the scene, while many others sustained injuries of varying severity.

Following the incident, Naidu instructed state officials to remain in close contact with the Bihar government and local authorities to ensure timely support reaches the victims. Several passengers who suffered serious injuries were shifted to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital in Gaya for treatment. Officials overseeing the response said all injured individuals currently receiving care at the hospital are in stable condition.
State authorities are also discussing transportation and logistical arrangements with the Bihar administration to facilitate the journey of the remaining travelers back to their hometowns once they are cleared to travel.

Preliminary reports indicate that the accident occurred on National Highway 19 in Aurangabad district when the tourist bus collided with a truck-trailer. The bus was carrying pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh who were visiting prominent religious destinations and was traveling from Bodh Gaya toward Varanasi at the time of the crash.
The collision took place in the Mufassil police station jurisdiction, between the areas of Bhediya and Dev Mor. Local witnesses stated that the accident happened during an overtaking maneuver by the bus driver, though authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact sequence of events.
