NEETUGReExam – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has stepped up communication efforts with students appearing for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination by issuing reminders through multiple digital channels. Candidates scheduled to take the examination on June 21 are being urged to download their admit cards promptly and remain alert to fraudulent messages circulating online.
The re-examination comes after the original NEET-UG test, conducted on May 3, was cancelled due to allegations of a question paper leak. The matter is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), prompting authorities to implement additional measures to ensure transparency and security during the fresh examination process.
Official Communication Channels Highlighted
In a public notice shared on social media, the NTA said it has begun sending reminder messages through SMS and email to help candidates access their examination documents without delay. The agency emphasized that students should carefully verify the source of any communication claiming to be from the examination authority.
According to the advisory, genuine SMS alerts will be delivered through the sender ID “NICPEP.” Similarly, official emails related to the examination will originate only from the designated address no-reply.neet.nta@nic.in. Candidates have been advised to visit the official NEET website directly through their web browsers rather than using links received through unsolicited messages.
Warning Against Fraudulent Messages
The examination authority has cautioned students against responding to suspicious messages that promise admit cards, answer keys, examination papers, or any service requiring payment. Officials stressed that the NTA never distributes such materials through third-party links or requests money from candidates through unofficial channels.
Students have been urged to avoid clicking on unfamiliar links and to report any questionable communication to the appropriate authorities. The agency said such precautions are necessary to protect candidates from cyber fraud and misinformation during the examination period.
WhatsApp Service Introduced for Updates
The NTA also confirmed that it is using WhatsApp as an additional platform to share examination-related information, including updates about test centres and other important announcements. However, candidates have been instructed to verify the authenticity of any account claiming to represent the agency.
Only WhatsApp accounts displaying a verified blue tick and the official name “National Testing Agency” should be considered legitimate. The agency warned that accounts lacking official verification should not be trusted, even if they appear to use the NTA name or branding.
No Personal Information or Payments Required
Officials clarified that the WhatsApp service functions solely as a one-way communication channel. Candidates will receive updates but will never be asked to reply with personal details, passwords, OTPs, or payment information.
The agency stated that any request for confidential information or financial transactions should immediately be treated as fraudulent. Students have been encouraged to remain vigilant and verify information through official sources whenever doubts arise.
Fresh Admit Cards Mandatory for Re-Examination
The NTA further clarified that admit cards issued for the original May 3 examination are no longer valid. Several candidates have been assigned different examination centres for the June 21 re-test, making it necessary to use the newly issued documents.
However, candidates who have already downloaded their admit cards for the upcoming examination do not need to obtain another copy. The agency advised all applicants to ensure that their documents are downloaded exclusively from the official website and to report suspicious communications through designated cybercrime reporting mechanisms.
