NEET UG – Candidate Seeks Fresh Retest After Raising Concerns Over Mirzapur Exam Conduct
NEET UG –A NEET-UG aspirant has urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) to review alleged irregularities during the June 21 retest in Mirzapur, claiming that multiple issues inside the examination hall affected the performance of several candidates.

Candidate Claims Multiple Issues Affected Examination
A 19-year-old NEET-UG candidate has approached the National Testing Agency repeatedly, sending more than 10 emails regarding the conduct of the June 21 retest held in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. According to the student, several incidents during the examination disrupted the test environment and prevented candidates from completing their papers. She has appealed for another opportunity, arguing that the conditions were unfair and influenced the outcome for many students.
Alleged Early Collection of Answer Sheets
The candidate said she was seated in Hall No. 41 at the BLJ Inter College examination centre, where around 30 students appeared for the test. The examination was scheduled from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. However, she alleged that invigilators announced the end of the examination before the scheduled time despite the wall clock indicating that several minutes were still left.
According to her account, answer sheets were collected immediately after the announcement, leaving many candidates unable to finish marking their responses. She estimated that she was unable to answer 36 questions because her OMR sheet was taken away before she believed the allotted time had expired.
Dispute Over Examination Timing
The student further claimed that the invigilator informed candidates that the clock displayed inside the examination hall was running 15 minutes behind the official time and instructed them not to rely on it. She maintained that the unexpected announcement caused confusion among students who had been monitoring the wall clock throughout the examination.
This year’s NEET-UG retest included an additional 15 minutes, and the National Testing Agency had arranged clocks in examination halls across the country to help candidates keep track of time, as personal watches and mobile phones are not permitted inside the centres.
Disturbance Caused by Monkeys Near Examination Hall
Apart from the timing dispute, the candidate described another incident that she believes affected concentration during the examination. She said a group of monkeys gathered outside the windows of the examination hall, making loud noises and reportedly attempting to enter the room through a window.
According to her statement, the disturbance continued until a staff member intervened and drove the animals away using a stick. She said the episode distracted several candidates while they were attempting to complete their papers.
Complaint Over Conduct of Invigilators
The student also alleged that a male and a female invigilator engaged in loud personal conversations inside the examination hall during the test. She claimed that when a few candidates requested them to lower their voices, they were allegedly warned that their OMR sheets could be taken away if they continued to complain.
She added that several students present in the examination hall expressed dissatisfaction over the events and discussed the possibility of pursuing legal remedies if their concerns were not addressed.
NTA Acknowledges Emails, Awaiting Official Response
According to the candidate, every email she sent to the National Testing Agency received a response acknowledging that her complaint had been noted. However, she said she has not yet received a detailed explanation or information about any further action.
Meanwhile, questions regarding the allegations were also sent to the NTA Director General for clarification. At the time the report was prepared, no official response had been issued by the agency regarding the claims made by the candidate.
