Medical Tourism – Delhi Plans Unified Digital Platform for Global Patients
Medical Tourism – The Delhi government is preparing to launch an integrated digital platform aimed at simplifying medical travel for patients coming from other Indian states and overseas. The proposed system will offer support from hospital selection and treatment bookings to travel coordination, language assistance and follow-up care after treatment.

DTTDC Invites Partners for Medical Tourism Project
The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), which is leading the initiative, issued a Request for Proposal on Friday to select a strategic partner for the project. The agency will be responsible for creating, operating and managing the Delhi Medical and Wellness Tourism Platform, along with building a wider medical tourism network across the National Capital Territory.
The selected partner will develop the platform at its own expense and oversee its operations. The work will include a web portal, mobile applications for patients and healthcare institutions, and an administrative dashboard for government departments and approved service providers.
Single-Window Support for Domestic and Overseas Patients
The proposed Delhi Medical and Wellness Tourism platform is expected to function as a one-stop service for people travelling to the capital for medical care. Patients will be able to register on the platform, verify passport and medical visa details, review hospitals, select treatment packages and make payments through the system.
The platform is also expected to provide live patient tracking, multilingual assistance, complaint handling and support after treatment. Officials believe the digital service could make the process more organised for patients who often need help with hospital appointments, travel arrangements and local services while seeking care in Delhi.
Project Office and Initial Launch Timeline
According to the tender document, the selected agency must open a project office in Delhi within 30 days after the agreement takes effect. It will then have 60 days to submit a detailed project report and a plan for implementing the platform.
The first version of the digital platform is expected to be ready within 120 days. The project schedule also includes the creation of a coordinated network of hospitals, wellness centres and service providers linked through the same system.
Hospitals, AYUSH Centres and Support Services to Join
The first empanelment phase is planned to be completed within 180 days. It is expected to include at least five hospitals accredited by the Joint Commission International, 25 hospitals accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers or holding similar recognition, and 15 AYUSH centres.
The network will also include at least 30 ground service providers offering transport, accommodation, hospitality, translation support and concierge services. These services are intended to help patients and accompanying family members manage practical requirements during their stay in the city.
Transparent Packages and Wider Healthcare Network
The project proposes to connect hospitals, doctors, diagnostic laboratories, AYUSH facilities, hotels and transport operators through one digital platform. It will also introduce standard treatment packages with clearly listed prices, allowing patients to compare available healthcare options before confirming a booking.
By combining medical care, travel assistance and wellness services in one place, the Delhi government aims to improve access to verified providers and create a more structured experience for medical travellers. The platform is expected to support Delhi’s position as a major destination for specialised treatment and wellness services.
