Nanasaheb Ramji Divekar, 47, of Balhegaon village in Vaijapur taluka, has been identified as the dead. He was employed at the Devgaon Rangari Police Station.

Divekar had not shown up for duty and had been missing for the last two days, according to police sources. His family and other police officers were looking for him, but they were unable to find any evidence, which caused them to become more concerned.

Police were notified on Sunday of suspicious activity at Divekar’s Balhegaon ancestral home. Officers from Shiur Police Station hurried to the scene in response to the tip. Divekar’s corpse was discovered buried in a trench that was excavated within the home during a search.

The way the corpse was hidden suggests that the murder was planned. When the event was discovered, senior police officers arrived at the scene right away. The corpse was sent to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination after the panchnama.

Given that the victim was a current police constable, the event has created a significant stir among the area police department. The precise reason for the murder, the timing and method of the crime, and the accused’s participation are all being investigated by the police.

Following the local police’s quick response to the incident, Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar Rathod personally examined the area. An extensive inquiry has also been started by the Local Crime Branch. To collect further evidence, a sniffer dog team has been sent to the crime site.

Three suspects have been detained for interrogation, and more investigation is under progress, according to police sources.
