Livelihood – Mohan Yadav to Lead Rs 300 Crore Loan Distribution Drive in Jhabua
Livelihood –The Madhya Pradesh government is set to organise a major state-level programme in Thandla town of Jhabua district on Friday, where Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will distribute loans worth Rs 300 crore to Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The initiative is designed to strengthen rural livelihoods, expand self-employment opportunities and support women’s financial independence across the state. The event is scheduled to begin after 1:30 p.m. and will bring together beneficiaries, farmers, students and representatives from various government departments.
Focus on Strengthening Self-Help Groups
According to an official statement, the programme has been planned with the objective of enhancing the capacity of Self-Help Groups while improving access to financial resources. The government believes that easier availability of institutional credit will enable women associated with these groups to expand small businesses, generate stable incomes and contribute more actively to local economic development.
Officials said the loan assistance is expected to encourage entrepreneurship in rural areas while supporting long-term livelihood opportunities for thousands of families.
Farmers to Share Experiences with the Chief Minister
Apart from the loan distribution ceremony, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is expected to interact with farmers engaged in natural and organic farming. During the discussion, progressive cultivators will share their experiences and highlight the benefits of sustainable agricultural practices.
The interaction is also intended to showcase the state’s ongoing efforts to encourage environmentally friendly farming methods and promote reduced dependence on chemical inputs.
Development Projects Worth Nearly Rs 284 Crore
The visit will also mark the launch of several infrastructure projects in Jhabua district. The Chief Minister is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for 29 new development works valued at Rs 174.64 crore. In addition, he will inaugurate 28 completed projects with a combined cost of Rs 109.17 crore.
These projects are expected to strengthen public infrastructure and improve access to essential services across the district.
Financial Support Under Multiple Welfare Schemes
As part of the event, 215 Self-Help Groups from Jhabua district will receive loans amounting to Rs 10.08 crore through the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission. Beneficiaries selected under several government welfare programmes will also receive financial assistance and support.
These schemes include the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme for establishing modern dairy units, the Chief Minister Udyam Kranti Yojana, the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Self-Employment Scheme, the Tantya Mama Economic Welfare Scheme and the Prime Minister Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme. Officials stated that these initiatives are intended to promote entrepreneurship, improve income generation and create employment opportunities in rural and tribal regions.
Students and Farmers Among Other Beneficiaries
The programme will also recognise academic excellence by honouring meritorious students from Classes 10 and 12. In another safety-focused initiative, helmets will be distributed to farmers through the Agriculture Department.
Eligible beneficiaries under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana will also receive assistance during the event, reflecting the government’s continued emphasis on supporting girls and women through targeted welfare measures.
Exhibition to Highlight Local Products and Government Initiatives
An Aajeevikano Mela will be organised alongside the main programme, offering visitors an opportunity to explore exhibitions prepared by government departments and Self-Help Groups. The stalls will display locally produced goods, tribal handicrafts, medicinal plants, natural and organic farming techniques and information about various public welfare schemes.
Officials said the exhibition has been designed to promote local entrepreneurship while increasing awareness about government initiatives available to rural communities. The district administration has completed all necessary preparations for the large-scale event.
