The senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader is expected to assess the progress of multiple civic and infrastructure projects while also engaging with newly elected representatives of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. His schedule includes meetings with administrative officials and the inauguration of a modern dairy processing facility aimed at strengthening the cooperative milk sector in the state.

Review Meetings Planned in Ahmedabad

As part of the visit, Amit Shah will hold discussions with recently elected AMC corporators and senior municipal authorities. Officials are expected to present updates on various development activities currently underway in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

A high-level review session has been scheduled at the South West Zone office of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. During the meeting, authorities are likely to discuss major public projects linked to the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. Several civic works involving large-scale financial investments are expected to come under review.

Focus on Civic Infrastructure and Environment

Urban infrastructure improvements are expected to remain a key topic during the discussions. Officials may also present updates on pond interconnection initiatives designed to improve water management in different parts of the region.

Preparations linked to the upcoming ‘Mission 5 Million Trees’ plantation campaign are also likely to be reviewed ahead of the monsoon season. The environmental drive is aimed at expanding green cover across urban and semi-urban areas of Gujarat.

Senior officials, including the Municipal Commissioner and top administrative representatives, are expected to attend the meeting and brief the Union Minister on the status of ongoing welfare and civic programmes.

Visit Seen as Important for Project Monitoring

Government sources view the visit as an important step in speeding up ongoing development activities and ensuring timely execution of major civic works. The meetings are expected to help identify pending issues in infrastructure projects and improve coordination between departments involved in urban planning and public services.

Officials are also expected to provide detailed reports on environmental schemes and welfare programmes currently being implemented in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts.

Dairy Plant Inauguration Scheduled in Gandhinagar

On May 17, Amit Shah is scheduled to travel to Gandhinagar district for the inauguration of a newly built milk processing unit operated by Madhur Dairy under the Gandhinagar District Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society.

The facility has been established near Dashela village close to Chiloda. According to officials, the inauguration ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. During the programme, the Union Minister is expected to inspect the processing unit and later address people attending the public event.

Boost Expected for Local Milk Producers

The newly developed dairy plant is expected to increase milk processing capacity in the region and strengthen the cooperative dairy network connected with local producers. Authorities believe the facility will help improve operational efficiency and create better support systems for farmers associated with milk collection and supply activities.

The project is also expected to contribute to the expansion of Gujarat’s dairy sector, which continues to play a major role in the rural economy. Cooperative officials say the new infrastructure will support smoother handling, storage, and processing of milk collected from surrounding villages.
