Strategic Dialogue Focuses on Stability

The meeting served as a platform for an in-depth exchange of views on the evolving geopolitical landscape and its implications for regional and global stability. Participants examined how shifting alliances and ongoing conflicts in West Asia could influence maritime security and economic corridors critical to India.

During the discussion, the governor highlighted India’s consistent approach of maintaining a balanced and peaceful stance in international affairs. He stressed that New Delhi continues to prioritise diplomacy, cooperation, and long-term stability over confrontation. According to him, such an approach is essential not only for safeguarding national interests but also for contributing to global peace.

Experts present at the gathering underscored the growing importance of maritime security, especially in light of increased geopolitical uncertainty. They pointed out that secure sea routes remain vital for trade, energy supply, and strategic mobility. The conversation also touched upon the need for coordinated international efforts to address emerging threats in maritime domains.

The governor acknowledged the value of these expert insights, noting that informed discussions play a key role in shaping policy perspectives and enhancing preparedness in a rapidly changing world.

Garima Joshi Shines at National Championship

In a separate development, Uttarakhand’s para-athlete Garima Joshi delivered an outstanding performance at the 24th National Para Athletics Championship held in Bhubaneswar from March 19 to 21, 2026. Competing in the F-55 category, she secured a gold medal in discus throw and a silver medal in javelin throw.

Garima’s achievement stands out in a highly competitive environment, with nearly 1,400 athletes participating in the event. Her contribution was significant in helping Uttarakhand secure a total of nine medals at the championship.

This success builds on her recent accomplishments at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Delhi, where she also delivered a strong performance by winning gold in discus and silver medals in both shot put and javelin.

At the closing ceremony, medals were awarded by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, marking another milestone in Garima’s growing sporting career. Her consistent performances have positioned her as one of the promising athletes in India’s para-sports landscape.

A Story of Unity Through Everyday Life

Meanwhile, in Dehradun, a unique example of social harmony is quietly making an impact. Kavita Khan, a resident of Sahastradhara Road, has been fostering unity through her personal and social initiatives.

Married to social worker Arif Khan since 2005, Kavita has created a household where different cultural and religious traditions coexist naturally. Festivals such as Eid, Diwali, and Holi are celebrated together, reflecting a shared sense of belonging rather than division.

Kavita believes that the essence of religion lies in bringing people together. This belief inspired her to take up social work, particularly in the field of education. In 2013, she started ‘Apni Pathshala’ from her home to provide basic education to children living in nearby slum areas.

What began as a small initiative gradually evolved into a more structured learning space. Recognising the broader needs of underprivileged children, she later expanded her efforts through ‘Project Muskan’ in 2016. The initiative focuses not only on education but also on overall development and well-being.

Her work highlights how individual efforts can contribute to building stronger, more inclusive communities. In a time when divisions often dominate public discourse, such examples offer a reminder of the power of unity and compassion.
