Environment – Delhi Minister Reviews Pollution Control and Development Projects in Rural and Industrial Areas
Environment – Delhi Environment and Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa conducted an on-ground review of environmental conditions, civic infrastructure and development activities in Mungeshpur village and the Bawana Industrial Area. The visit focused on assessing pollution-related issues, public amenities and measures aimed at improving the quality of life for residents while supporting balanced growth.

Inspection of Environmental and Civic Projects
During his visit, the minister examined several locations and held discussions with government officials regarding ongoing efforts to enhance environmental standards, maintain cleanliness and promote sustainable development. Officials briefed him on various initiatives designed to address local concerns and strengthen public infrastructure in the area.
Community Welfare Programmes Held at Temple Event
As part of the day’s engagements, Sirsa attended the annual Bhandara organised at Ganga Toli Temple. The community event included the distribution of bicycles to girls and women, supporting mobility and access to opportunities. Health-related welfare programmes were also arranged, including cancer screening services and eye examination camps for local residents.
The initiatives were aimed at increasing awareness about preventive healthcare while providing essential medical services to people in the community.
Focus on Expanding Green Cover in Rural Delhi
The minister also inspected a parcel of forest land in Mungeshpur, where discussions centred on environmental conservation and future plantation activities. Officials explored plans for expanding green zones and carrying out tree plantation drives to improve ecological conditions across the region.
The proposed measures are expected to contribute to increasing green cover, reducing environmental stress and supporting ecological balance in rural parts of the national capital. Environmental protection and afforestation efforts remain an important component of Delhi’s long-term sustainability goals.
Review of Infrastructure in Bawana Industrial Area
Later in the day, Sirsa visited the Bawana Industrial Area along with officials from the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC). The inspection focused on evaluating civic facilities and reviewing the progress of development projects within the industrial hub.
Road conditions, sanitation systems and drainage infrastructure were among the key areas assessed during the visit. The minister and officials also interacted with local residents, workers and representatives from industries to understand existing challenges and gather feedback regarding infrastructure requirements.
Balancing Industrial Growth with Environmental Responsibility
Addressing the importance of sustainable industrial development, Sirsa emphasised that economic growth should be accompanied by environmental accountability. He said the government is carefully reviewing infrastructure needs, civic services and future development plans in Bawana to ensure improved facilities for industries, employees and nearby communities.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure, address environmental concerns and support planned development across both rural and industrial regions of Delhi. Authorities are expected to continue monitoring projects aimed at improving public amenities while encouraging responsible growth.
