ElectoralRolls – Delhi Advances Voter List Revision as Form Distribution Crosses 81 Percent

ElectoralRolls – The Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Delhi has reached a significant stage, with enumeration forms now delivered to more than four-fifths of the capital’s registered voters. Officials say the current priority remains ensuring every eligible elector receives the required form before the focus shifts fully to collecting and digitally processing completed submissions.

Delhi voter list revision crosses 81 percent

Delhi has a total of 1,45,10,298 registered electors, and official figures released on Friday show that 1,18,00,240 enumeration forms have already been distributed. This represents 81.32 percent of the city’s electorate. The large-scale door-to-door campaign, which began on June 30, is scheduled to continue until July 29 as election officials work to complete the revision of the electoral rolls.

Distribution Drive Nears Final Phase

According to election authorities, the ongoing exercise has been designed to verify voter information and maintain accurate electoral records across the National Capital Territory. Officials indicated that the first phase has focused mainly on delivering forms to households, while the next stage will place greater emphasis on collecting completed documents and converting them into digital records.

So far, 7,09,499 completed enumeration forms have been digitised. Although this accounts for 4.89 percent of Delhi’s total electorate, officials noted that the pace of digitisation is expected to increase substantially once the distribution process reaches completion in most districts.

District-Wise Distribution Shows Uneven Progress

Data released by the Chief Electoral Officer highlights notable differences in coverage across Delhi’s districts. In terms of the number of forms distributed, West district recorded the highest figure with 13,21,784 forms. It was followed by North East with 15,33,867 electors covered, East with 12,35,186 forms distributed, South with 12,12,940, and South East with 11,99,651.

When measured by the percentage of eligible voters reached, West district emerged as the top performer with 90.78 percent coverage. South followed closely at 90.18 percent, while New Delhi recorded 88.01 percent. Central North achieved 86.03 percent, and Old Delhi stood at 83.86 percent, reflecting steady progress in these areas.

Some Districts Continue Catch-Up Efforts

Not every district has advanced at the same pace. South West reported the lowest distribution rate, reaching 72.03 percent of its electorate. South East and East followed with coverage levels of 77.03 percent and 77.04 percent respectively. Outer North registered 78.03 percent, while North West reached 78.62 percent.

Officials believe these districts will continue receiving focused attention over the remaining weeks of the campaign to ensure every eligible voter has access to the required documentation before the July 29 deadline.

Digital Processing Begins to Accelerate

Alongside physical distribution, authorities have also expanded efforts to digitise completed forms. South West district currently leads in this category with 1,02,603 forms processed digitally. Outer North follows with 1,01,508 digitised submissions, while West district has completed the digital processing of 84,375 forms.

Election officials maintain that the digitisation figures are expected to rise sharply as more completed forms are returned in the coming days. The Special Intensive Revision exercise remains an important administrative process aimed at updating voter records, improving data accuracy, and ensuring that Delhi’s electoral rolls remain current ahead of future elections.
