Narcotics – Nigerian Woman Seriously Injured After Jump During NCB Operation in South Delhi
Narcotics – A Nigerian woman suffered serious injuries after allegedly jumping from the balcony of a residential building in Delhi’s Mehrauli area while officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) were carrying out a search operation linked to a suspected drug investigation.
According to officials, the incident occurred during an NCB raid conducted as part of an ongoing probe into suspected narcotics-related activities. The injured woman was immediately shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for medical treatment. Authorities said she remains under observation and her condition is currently stable.
NCB Detains Two Foreign Nationals During Search
During the operation, NCB officers detained two Nigerian nationals from the property. Investigators also recovered substances suspected to be illegal narcotics from the premises. Officials stated that forensic examination is underway to determine the exact nature and quantity of the seized material. The findings will play an important role in the next stage of the investigation.
Authorities have not disclosed further details about the individuals taken into custody, stating that inquiries are continuing and additional legal steps will depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
Incident Resembles Earlier Anti-Drug Operation
The latest development comes nearly two months after another incident during an anti-drug operation in Delhi. In that case, an African woman lost her life after allegedly jumping from the fourth-floor balcony of an apartment in the Swaroop Nagar area of north Delhi while police officers were conducting a raid connected to an NDPS investigation.
The earlier operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Squad following the arrest of a suspect identified as Romeo, also known as Sky. Investigators were pursuing leads linked to another accused person, Frank Dashmond, in connection with a narcotics case. During the search, police claimed to have recovered approximately 30 grams of MDMA and 1.5 grams of heroin from the residence.
Previous Investigation Revealed Suspected Drug Facility
Police identified the deceased woman in the earlier case as Stella Pius. According to investigators, she allegedly jumped from the balcony shortly after officers entered the apartment. She was rushed to Burari Government Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
During the search of the premises, officers reportedly recovered a key from another African national, Martin Aaron. The key was used to unlock a separate room inside the apartment. Investigators said the room contained chemicals, laboratory beakers, pipes, weighing machines, and storage sacks. Based on the materials found, officials suspected that the room may have been used either for the production of illegal drugs or for storing raw materials associated with narcotics.
Investigation Into Mehrauli Case Continues
Officials said the Mehrauli operation remains under active investigation. The suspected narcotic substances recovered during the raid are being examined, while investigators continue to collect evidence related to the case. Authorities have indicated that any further arrests or legal action will be based on the outcome of forensic analysis and the evidence gathered during the investigation.
Law enforcement agencies have not released additional information regarding the identities of the injured woman or the detained individuals beyond confirming their nationality.
