Early Morning Activity at Party Headquarters
As counting got underway, a festive atmosphere could be seen at the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in New Delhi. Party workers and supporters gathered in anticipation of the results, while large-scale food preparations added to the energetic mood. Traditional dishes such as poori and sweets were arranged as part of the day’s hospitality efforts.
Extensive Food Arrangements for Supporters
A dedicated team of cooks began preparations as early as 4 a.m. to cater to an estimated gathering of 400 to 500 people. The breakfast spread included a mix of popular Indian items such as aloo poori, poha, sandwiches, and freshly made jalebis. In addition to these, beverages and desserts like lassi, rabri, and mishti doi were also prepared, along with fresh fruits to offer variety.
The chef overseeing the arrangements explained that the intention was to ensure a complete and satisfying menu for attendees throughout the day. The scale of preparation reflected both the expected turnout and the importance of the occasion.
Lunch Menu Designed for Large Gathering
For the afternoon meal, the kitchen team planned a traditional menu featuring dal tadka, kadhi pakoda, parwal aloo, rice, and papad. Desserts continued to play a central role, with Bengali rasogulla and jalebi included to maintain a celebratory tone. The entire operation was managed by a team of 22 members working in coordination to handle cooking and distribution efficiently.
Counting Across Multiple Regions Underway
Simultaneously, vote counting is taking place across 823 Assembly constituencies in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and the Union Territory of Puducherry. In addition, by-elections in seven Assembly constituencies across five states are also being counted.
The counting process began with postal ballots, followed by the tabulation of votes recorded in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), which started at 8:30 a.m. Officials are conducting the counting in multiple rounds to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Real-Time Updates and Monitoring
Authorities are providing real-time updates through the Election Commission’s official platforms, including the ECINET system. This allows political parties, media, and the public to track results as they are announced round by round.
