Education bicycle initiative addanki

In a recent outreach programme held in Kamepalli, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar handed over free bicycles to 37 school students, aiming to make daily travel to school easier and encourage regular attendance. The initiative is part of a broader plan to support students, particularly those facing transportation challenges in rural regions.

Focus on Improving Access to Education

Addressing students and local officials during the event, the minister highlighted that thousands of bicycles have already been distributed across the Addanki constituency. He noted that 10,450 students have benefited so far, and the distribution drive is expected to be completed by April 15. The programme is designed to reduce dropout rates and help students continue their education without logistical barriers.

Additional Support for Differently-Abled Individuals

In addition to student welfare measures, the minister announced plans to extend support to differently-abled individuals. The government will soon distribute tricycles to eligible beneficiaries and provide them with basic training to operate the vehicles safely. This step is intended to improve mobility and independence for persons with disabilities in the region.

Infrastructure Development in Schools

During the interaction, students raised concerns regarding access to clean drinking water at their school. Responding promptly, Gottipati Ravi Kumar approved the installation of a water purification plant at the Kamepalli school. He emphasized that improving school infrastructure remains a key priority for the administration, with ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities across educational institutions.

Teacher Recruitment Efforts Underway

The minister also spoke about steps being taken to strengthen the education system through recruitment. He stated that the government is currently conducting teacher appointments under the Mega DSC programme, led by HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. The recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies and ensure that schools are adequately staffed with qualified teachers.

The combined focus on student support, infrastructure, and staffing reflects a broader strategy to enhance the quality and accessibility of education in the region.
