Education – Delhi Government Schools Record Strong Surge in CBSE Class X Results
Education – The Delhi government has reported a significant improvement in academic outcomes as its schools delivered an impressive performance in the CBSE Class X Results 2026. Government-run institutions recorded a pass percentage of 97.23%, clearly surpassing the national average of 93.70%. The results reflect a steady upward trend in the capital’s public education system and highlight consistent progress over recent years.
Noticeable Rise in Overall Pass Percentage
Compared to last year’s pass rate of 94.64%, the latest figures show an increase of 2.59 percentage points. This steady growth indicates sustained efforts to improve teaching standards, student support systems, and overall academic engagement. Officials described the outcome as evidence of long-term improvements rather than a one-time achievement.
More Schools Achieve Top Results
A major highlight of this year’s results is the sharp rise in the number of schools achieving exceptional outcomes. As many as 457 schools reported a perfect 100% pass rate, a substantial jump from 300 schools in the previous year. Additionally, 924 schools recorded pass percentages above 90%, compared to 529 in 2025.
These figures suggest that the improvement is not limited to a few institutions but is spread across a large number of schools, indicating a broader strengthening of the education system.
Strong Participation and High Scorers Increase
A total of 1,88,460 students appeared for the examination this year, out of which 1,83,246 successfully cleared it. The number of high-performing students has also increased noticeably. Around 26 students secured marks above 95%, while 540 students scored between 90% and 95%. Furthermore, 5,202 students achieved scores ranging from 80% to 90%.
This growing number of high scorers reflects improved academic consistency and better preparation among students across different schools.
Girls Continue to Outperform Boys
The results also showed a slight edge for female students. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 97.37%, compared to 97.09% among boys. Education officials acknowledged this trend and reiterated their commitment to ensuring equal educational opportunities.
To support continued participation of girls in education, the government announced a financial allocation of Rs 90 crore. This initiative aims to provide free bicycles to nearly 1.3 lakh Class 9 girls, helping address challenges related to distance and accessibility.
Investment in Infrastructure and Digital Learning
The government has also focused on improving educational infrastructure. This year, 9,000 smart classrooms have been established, with a long-term goal of reaching 21,000. In addition, 175 modern computer laboratories and 125 digital libraries have been introduced to enhance access to technology and learning resources.
These developments are designed to create a more interactive and modern learning environment for students, aligning classroom practices with evolving educational needs.
Introduction of Advanced Learning Facilities
Specialised institutions, including 75 CM SHRI Schools, are introducing advanced facilities such as AI-based language labs and career guidance centres. These initiatives aim to prepare students for future academic and professional challenges, moving beyond traditional examination-focused learning.
Officials believe that such steps will help students develop practical skills alongside academic knowledge.
Focus on Holistic Education Development
With an education budget of Rs 19,148 crore, the government continues to prioritise a well-rounded approach to education. The focus remains on building confidence, enhancing capabilities, and encouraging overall personality development among students.
Authorities stated that the improvements seen in this year’s results are the outcome of consistent investment, innovation, and a structured approach to reform. The long-term goal is to create an inclusive and high-quality education system accessible to every child in the capital.
