The United Arab Emirates has pledged an emergency humanitarian package worth USD 10 million to assist people impacted by two earthquakes that struck off Venezuela’s northern coastline near the city of Moron. The relief initiative has been launched under the direction of President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and will be implemented through the UAE Aid Agency. The funding is intended to provide immediate support for families facing hardship following the natural disaster.

Emergency Assistance Targets Urgent Needs

The relief operation is designed to address the most pressing humanitarian requirements in the affected regions. Authorities said the financial assistance will help supply essential food items, medical equipment, shelter materials and other emergency resources needed by displaced residents and vulnerable communities. The initiative also aims to support early recovery efforts while helping restore stability in areas damaged by the earthquakes.

UAE Reaffirms Humanitarian Commitment

The latest response reflects the UAE’s long-standing policy of extending humanitarian assistance to countries facing natural disasters and humanitarian crises. By mobilising emergency aid quickly, the country seeks to ease the suffering of affected populations and contribute to recovery efforts wherever urgent support is required.

Aid Agency Highlights Global Relief Mission

Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said the country’s humanitarian efforts continue to be guided by principles established over many years. He noted that the UAE’s global relief initiatives are rooted in the humanitarian legacy of the late Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and continue under the leadership of President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to Al Ameri, the UAE remains committed to delivering assistance wherever disasters create urgent humanitarian challenges. He said the leadership’s continued support enables relief agencies to respond rapidly and reduce the impact of natural calamities on affected communities.

Coordination With Venezuelan Authorities

Al Ameri said the situation facing residents affected by the earthquakes remains extremely difficult, making immediate humanitarian intervention essential. He explained that the UAE Aid Agency is working closely with Venezuelan authorities and international humanitarian organisations to ensure relief materials reach those in need without unnecessary delays.

The coordination effort includes the delivery of food supplies, medical assistance, shelter equipment and other emergency resources aimed at supporting people whose lives have been disrupted by the earthquakes. Officials said the priority is to provide timely assistance while helping communities begin the process of recovery.

The UAE has consistently responded to humanitarian emergencies across different regions of the world, providing financial assistance, relief supplies and recovery support following major disasters. The latest aid package for Venezuela continues that approach, focusing on immediate humanitarian needs while supporting longer-term recovery for communities affected by the twin earthquakes.
