Police Action Following Specific Intelligence

According to police officials, the operation was launched after authorities received information about the suspected sale of hydroponic ganja in a public park located near the Vijay Nagar double-storey area. Acting on the input, a special team was formed to verify the information and conduct a search operation.

During the raid, officers apprehended 22-year-old Jaseem Siyadul Farsan MP, a student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Delhi University. Police identified him as a resident originally belonging to Kozhikode, Kerala.

Contraband Recovered During Investigation

Officials stated that nearly 195 grams of hydroponic ganja were recovered during the operation. The substance, often referred to as OG in illegal drug markets, is considered a high-value narcotic product. Investigators said the recovery was made based on information provided during the initial stages of questioning.

The seizure has prompted a wider investigation into the movement and distribution of such narcotics within the city. Authorities are examining whether the recovered material was intended for retail distribution among a larger network of buyers.

Alleged Supply Network Under Scrutiny

Police claimed that during interrogation, the accused disclosed details regarding his alleged involvement in the supply of prohibited substances. Investigators believe he procured narcotics from external sources and delivered them to customers based on specific demand.

According to officials, he is also suspected of supplying the substance to individuals connected with educational institutions, including students associated with Satyawati College. Authorities allege that these activities were carried out with the intention of generating financial profit.

Case Registered Under NDPS Act

Following the arrest, police registered a case under Section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Model Town Police Station. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and investigators are continuing to gather evidence related to the matter.

Law enforcement officials noted that the case remains under active investigation. Officers are attempting to identify the source from which the accused allegedly obtained the narcotics and determine whether additional individuals were involved in the supply chain.

Investigation Expands Into Drug Distribution Links

Authorities said efforts are now focused on tracing both backward and forward connections within the suspected drug network. Investigators are examining possible links that could help uncover suppliers, intermediaries, and potential customers connected to the operation.

Police officials emphasized that further inquiries are underway and additional action may follow depending on the findings of the ongoing investigation. The case highlights continued efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb the circulation of illegal narcotic substances in the national capital and prevent their spread among young individuals.
