Chief Minister Reviews Development Priorities

A delegation from the Doon Assembly constituency in Solan district, headed by MLA Ram Kumar, met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to discuss a range of development proposals for the region. During the meeting, representatives highlighted several local requirements and sought continued government support for ongoing and future infrastructure projects.

Responding to the delegation, the Chief Minister said the state administration is working to ensure that development reaches every part of Himachal Pradesh in a balanced manner. He stated that improving public health services and strengthening the education system remain among the government’s highest priorities. According to him, the state has allocated sufficient financial resources for development projects while also implementing reforms aimed at modernising both sectors.

Major Public Facilities Expanded in Doon

The Chief Minister outlined several important projects that have already been introduced in the Doon Assembly constituency. These include the establishment of a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office at Baddi, a 100-bed government hospital, and a Public Works Department (PWD) Division. He said these facilities are expected to improve administrative efficiency while expanding access to healthcare and public services for residents of the area.

The government believes these initiatives will strengthen the region’s institutional framework and support long-term development by bringing essential services closer to local communities.

Government Schools Shift Towards CBSE Curriculum

Highlighting education reforms, the Chief Minister said the state government is gradually introducing the CBSE curriculum in government schools to improve academic standards. As part of this initiative, three government schools in the Doon constituency have already been upgraded to follow the CBSE pattern.

He noted that the move is intended to provide students, especially those living in rural areas, with access to quality education without the higher costs generally associated with private CBSE institutions. The initiative is expected to create greater educational opportunities while maintaining affordability for families.

The Chief Minister also informed the delegation that teachers have already been appointed in these upgraded schools, while additional recruitment is in progress to strengthen the teaching workforce and support the expanded curriculum.

MLA Raises Additional Infrastructure Needs

MLA Ram Kumar expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for approving six to seven new government offices in the constituency and for implementing the commitments previously announced for the area. He said the government’s focus on Doon’s development has helped accelerate public infrastructure and administrative services.

During the discussion, the MLA also requested financial support for the construction of a stadium to promote sports facilities in the constituency. In addition, he urged the state government to provide assistance for further strengthening the local road network, which he said would improve connectivity and benefit residents across the region.

He also extended an invitation to the Chief Minister to visit the Doon Assembly constituency and interact with local residents while reviewing the progress of ongoing development works.

The meeting concluded with discussions centred on improving public services and ensuring that planned development projects continue to move forward in line with the government’s broader objective of inclusive growth across Himachal Pradesh.
