Delhi AQI Update: Jahangirputi is the most polluted area at 405, and the Capital Records “Very Poor” Air Quality; View Area-Wise AQI

Delhi AQI Update:  The fight against declining air quality is becoming worse as Delhi’s notorious winter becomes worse every day. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said that the capital’s air quality index was 332 at 8 a.m. on Friday, continuing in the “very poor” category.

At 8 a.m. on Thursday, the city’s air quality was 285; by 8 a.m. on Friday, it had drastically declined to 332.

According to CPCB statistics from many air quality monitoring stations located around Delhi, the air quality remained “very poor” in a significant portion of the city, with just a small number of stations recording “poor” values, which are below 300 AQI points.

Using 40 air quality monitoring stations located across Delhi, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) assesses the quality of the air in the nation’s capital.

At 405 Jahangir Puri Chokes, one of 40 monitoring stations reported “severe” air quality. At 8 a.m. on Friday, the region registered hazardous, choking air.

Only five out of forty sites registered an air quality index of “poor,” meaning it was below 30.

At 8 a.m. on Friday, Jahangir Puri reported a “severe” AQI of 405, which is among the worst in Delhi.

Areas of Delhi With Low AQI IGI Airport (247), Aya Nagar (256), Mandir Marg (248), Nazafgarh (228), and IIT Delhi (IITM) (274).
