Delhi Air Pollution: Airport Issues Advisory Due to “Very Poor” Air Quality and Thick Smog Covering Capital
Delhi Air Pollution: At 8 a.m. on Thursday, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that the national capital’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was 358, still in the extremely bad category. The air quality worsened once again after two days of little improvement, with many monitoring stations reporting severe levels that were above the 400 threshold.
Anand Vihar, Vivek Vihar, and Wazirpur were among the worst-hit localities, with AQIs of 416, 411, and 404, respectively, falling into the severe category. As part of a multifaceted plan to address the city’s deteriorating air pollution, the Delhi administration will start strictly enforcing the “No PUC, No Fuel” law from December 18.

The National Capital Region’s cities continued to have poor to severe air quality; Faridabad had an AQI of 221, Gurugram had 294, Ghaziabad had 258, Greater Noida had 272, and Muzaffarnagar had 259. While NH-24 in Ghazipur had an AQI of 341, falling into the very low category, Noida recorded a very poor AQI of 329.
