Crime – Delhi Constable Accused of Killing Wife, Separate Family Shooting Reported in Mathura

Crime -Authorities in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are investigating two separate fatal shooting incidents that took place over the weekend, with police continuing efforts to gather evidence and complete legal proceedings.

Delhi constable wife killing mathura shooting

A Delhi Police constable has been accused of shooting his wife to death in east Delhi’s Kalyanpuri area on Sunday evening after an argument reportedly broke out while the couple was travelling together on a scooter. According to investigators, the disagreement escalated during the journey, prompting the constable to stop the scooter before allegedly opening fire on his wife. He is then believed to have fled the location immediately after the incident.

Witnesses Rush Victim to Hospital

Police said several people present nearby witnessed the shooting and acted quickly to help the injured woman. She was taken to a nearby hospital in an autorickshaw by local residents. Despite medical treatment, doctors later declared her dead.

Investigators have launched an extensive search operation to locate the accused constable, who remains absconding. Police teams are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations and collecting statements from eyewitnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events. Officials said further information will be shared as the investigation progresses.

Search Continues for Absconding Constable

Law enforcement agencies are examining all available evidence, including surveillance recordings and forensic material gathered from the crime scene. Officers have not disclosed additional details about the motive behind the alleged shooting, stating that the investigation is still at an early stage.

Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to assist the investigation as efforts continue to trace the accused.

Cousin Arrested After Fatal Shooting in Mathura

In another incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district, police arrested a man accused of shooting his cousin during a family gathering. Officials said the accused was taken into custody at the scene shortly after the incident, and his licensed firearm was also seized.

According to Circle Officer Praveen Tiwari, the Highway Police Station received information about the shooting, following which senior officers immediately reached the location to inspect the crime scene. Police confirmed that legal procedures, including the inquest, have been initiated.

Alleged Personal Dispute Under Investigation

During preliminary questioning, investigators said the accused claimed that the shooting was linked to an alleged personal dispute involving the deceased and the accused’s wife. Police, however, said all aspects of the case are being verified and the claims made during interrogation remain part of the ongoing investigation.

Officials stated that statements from family members and other witnesses are being recorded while forensic evidence is also being examined. The investigation will determine the exact sequence of events and establish the circumstances that led to the fatal incident.

Earlier Arrest Made in Separate Mathura Shooting Case

Meanwhile, Mathura Police also confirmed progress in another firearms-related investigation connected to an incident reported earlier this month in Khamni village. According to officials, the suspect accused of shooting and injuring his associate on July 2 was apprehended after a brief exchange of fire during police action.

Authorities said several search operations had been carried out before the accused was finally located and arrested. Further legal proceedings are continuing in accordance with the investigation.
