Police Respond to Early Morning Shooting

According to local officials, Portland Police officers assigned to the North Precinct were dispatched to the 5800 block of Northeast Alberta Street at approximately 3:33 a.m. local time after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon reaching the location, officers discovered two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency medical teams transported both victims to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigators later learned that four additional people connected to the incident had reached different hospitals in private vehicles before police arrived. The total number of victims in the shooting rose to six.

One Victim Dies, Others Expected to Recover

Authorities confirmed that one of the injured victims, an adult man, later died while receiving medical treatment. The remaining five victims sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Officials also stated that one of the survivors is a teenager.

Police have not released the identities of the victims, and further details regarding their conditions have not been made public.

Investigation Continues as Suspects Remain at Large

Law enforcement officials said the individual or individuals responsible fled the area before officers arrived. As of the latest update, no arrests have been announced, and investigators have not disclosed any information regarding possible suspects or a motive behind the attack.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation. Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses relevant information, including video footage or other evidence, to come forward by submitting tips through the department’s official reporting channels.

Separate Idaho Shooting Under Investigation

The Portland incident came less than a day after another deadly shooting occurred in the northwestern US state of Idaho. Local authorities reported that at least three people were killed and two others were injured in a shooting near an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls on Saturday.

According to city officials, the violence began inside the restaurant shortly before 2:30 p.m. local time. Emergency responders and law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the scene, while investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officials have not yet released complete details about what led to the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Public Safety Measures Implemented

During the Idaho incident, the Twin Falls Police Department issued a public safety alert asking residents and visitors to avoid the area surrounding the restaurant. Authorities said the restriction was necessary to allow police officers, emergency medical personnel, and other first responders to carry out their work safely.

The department also confirmed that officers were responding to what was described as an active shooter situation while securing the scene and ensuring there was no further threat to the public.

Both the Portland and Twin Falls shootings remain under active investigation. Authorities in each jurisdiction continue to collect evidence, interview witnesses, and encourage members of the public with relevant information to assist investigators as efforts continue to determine the full circumstances behind the incidents.
