CBSE – Class 12 Re-Evaluation Application Deadline Extended by One Day
CBSE – Academic Updates and Board Exam Verification Process – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has granted Class 12 students additional time to complete applications related to answer sheet verification and re-evaluation. The board announced on Friday that the deadline has been extended by one day, allowing students to submit requests until midnight on June 7.

Extension Announced After Student Complaints
The decision comes after numerous students reported difficulties while accessing scanned copies of their answer sheets through the board’s post-result services portal. Several candidates also faced issues while submitting applications for verification and re-evaluation after the online platform became operational on June 2.
According to CBSE, the extension has been provided to ensure that students receive adequate time and assistance to complete the process without unnecessary pressure. The board stated that the revised timeline is intended to support students who encountered technical or procedural challenges during the application period.
Revised Schedule for Applications
Earlier, students were required to submit their requests by midnight on June 6. With the latest revision, the application window will now remain open until midnight on June 7. CBSE has advised students seeking verification or re-evaluation services to take note of the updated schedule and complete their submissions within the extended period.
The board emphasized that the additional day is meant to facilitate a smoother experience for candidates wishing to review the evaluation of their examination papers.
Portal Opened for Verification Requests
Earlier this week, CBSE activated its online system for students who wished to raise concerns regarding the evaluation of their answer books. The facility enables candidates to request verification of issues identified in scanned copies and seek re-evaluation if they believe their answers have not been assessed accurately.
The board clarified that students can report several types of discrepancies during the verification process. These include missing pages in scanned answer books, absent supplementary sheets, omitted maps or graphs, unclear or blurred images, incorrect answer book uploads, or evaluation conducted against a different question paper set.
Concerns Raised Over Answer Sheet Copies
The verification process gained significant attention after some Class 12 students alleged that the scanned answer sheets made available online did not appear to match their own handwriting. These claims sparked concerns regarding the accuracy of the evaluation workflow and raised questions about the functioning of the on-screen marking system used during assessment.
Students and parents expressed apprehension that potential mismatches could affect the fairness of the evaluation process. The issue generated widespread discussion among candidates awaiting clarity from the board.
Government Orders Inquiry Into OSM Procurement
Amid the controversy, the Cabinet Secretariat has announced the formation of a single-member committee to examine matters related to the procurement of services associated with the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system used by CBSE.
The committee has been tasked with reviewing the procurement process connected to the digital evaluation mechanism. The development comes as authorities seek to address concerns raised by students and ensure transparency in examination-related procedures.
With the extended application deadline now in place, affected students have been given additional time to submit verification and re-evaluation requests while investigations and reviews related to the evaluation system continue.
