The incident occurred on Monday night when 20-year-old Yagya and his 14-year-old cousin Abhav were returning home after attending a cricket match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. According to police, their motorcycle was struck by a goods carrier near Bangla Sahib in the Parliament Street area. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in critical head injuries to both boys.
Authorities stated that despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the victims were declared dead on arrival. Family members later claimed that the injured teenagers remained unattended at the accident site for several minutes before help reached them.

Yagya, a Bachelor of Science student, was known among friends and family as a dedicated cricket enthusiast and a talented guitarist. He had ambitions of representing India in cricket and reportedly practiced regularly every morning. Alongside academics, he was also active in college cultural activities, reflecting a vibrant and determined personality.
Abhav, a Class 10 student, had been speaking to his father moments before the accident. The call abruptly disconnected, leaving his family anxious. His 15th birthday was just days away, and preparations were already underway. His father had recently purchased a cricket bat as a surprise gift, unaware that the celebration would turn into mourning.
Family Recounts Final Moments
Relatives described the deep bond shared between the two boys and the shock that followed the tragic news. Their uncle, Ravi Bhatia, said a stranger answered Abhav’s phone after the accident and informed the family about the incident. He expressed grief over the loss and urged authorities to take strict action against the person responsible.
Both victims were the only children of their respective families. Their fathers, Shailendra and Sumit, jointly run a dry fruit business in Chandni Chowk. The loss has left the households shattered, with relatives gathering at their residence the following morning to offer support and demand justice.

Witnesses present at the scene reported that the collision was forceful, leaving little chance for survival. Passersby alerted the police and assisted in transporting the injured teenagers to the hospital. However, their efforts could not save the young lives.
